The Sweet Fragility Of Beauty
I found a flower while taking a walk
Softly it seemed to talk
Lovely, it could be a work of art ,
Couldn't help but hold it close to my heart
Caught on its quiet light,
The world for once just felt right.
Suddenly I watched it lose its breath,
A sad end and gentle kind of death
Perhaps it had been dying ,
Or perhaps it wilted in my trying
Notwithstanding the flower had brought me a smile ,
Even if it's just for a little while.
And as I let it go, into the breeze,
I carried a lesson among the trees
That even in endings, there's a new start,
A seed of hope, a resilient heart.
