PRAYERS OF PURPOSE

istockphoto-1933318206-612x612.jpg

May we not let what we'll eat Stop us from becoming who we'll be.
May the hunger in our bellies Never drown the fire in our spirits.

May the chase for daily bread Not blind us to the seeds in our hands.
May we not trade vision for a plate,
Or destiny for temporary relief.

Let the nights be lean if they must,
But let our souls remain full of light
Let us choose the hard road of purpose over the soft bed of compromise.

For what is gain without growth? What is survival if you've silenced your song? What is comfort if it cages the calling?

So when the world tempts us with shortcuts, With fast cash and fame without roots
May we remember
The future waits for those who endure.

May we hunger yes, but never bow.
May we lack, but never lose our way.
May we eat but never at the cost Of becoming who we were born to be.
