RE: Baj-Armero Dividend Logic: Is There a Better Way?

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

I just recently acquired myself some ARMERO, so this is very interesting indeed! The way that you set it up makes sense, and it works well, so I don't know if I have anything to offer, other than letting you know how we do it for the We Are Alive Tribe.

The script for the daily dividend payouts for held and/or staked ALIVE calculates how many of the chosen tokens to send were earned in a week, then sends out a quantity just under that for each token, for both liquid and staked ALIVE in people's accounts, with staked receiving double. It's been working well for a fair while now. I know that is very different from what you're doing with ARMERO, but perhaps there's a tidbit useful in there. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

So think about "token precision".

Liquid Hive has only three decimals available. Hive engine tokens can have more. But still, how do you guys deal with rounding?

Oh indeed, that actually caused a couple issues when we were testing the script, once for liquid HIVE, and once for LOLZ. Bjorn (@borniet), who wrote and manages our payout scripts, had to adjust the precision a little, though i
I don't know exactly how he tweaked it. The rounding issue with HIVE was solved (for the moment) by keeping more liquid HIVE on the payout account. You and @thecrazygm should connect with Bjorn, as he's a phenomenal coder, and an exceedingly prodigious builder. He's a dear friend and partner in two projects. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Ive been working with @borniet on hive-engine stuff!

Just to be clear, we solved this issue a long time ago with the above ARMERO script, but are testing a type of post - something of a mental exercise.

Hahaha...seriously?!? Well that's pretty cool!

I figured that you did solve it, since the ARMERO payouts certainly seem to work well. I like the idea, as the responses might hold nuggets of gold. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
