RE: Little Pot of Horrors - this plant eats bugs

Hello, my friend! I used to raise and propagate this species, Dionaea muscipula, and many other species of carnivorous plants. They all require quite specialized care, definitely not like most plants. Most of them come from acidic, nutrient-poor environments, which is why they require animals to supplement photosynthesis. This species comes from a small area in North and South Carolina, in sandy sphagnum bogs. Give them good sun, but don't let them dry out completely. They need a 3-month domancy period in winter, with a bit drier soil, and temperatures in the low 40s. If they're happy, they'll have lovely white flowers in spring, and you'll get lots of seeds to plant. Baby venus fly-traps are pretty bloody cute! I wish you much success with them! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
Thank you for the information. It is appreciated.

You're very welcome, I'm happy to help. They're special plants that are not difficult to grow, they just require certain parameters to be met, and then they thrive. May they grow exuberantly for you! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
