My Entry for Reflection Hunters Contest: Round 179 - Blackberry Reflections - GaiaYoga Gardens, Lower Puna, Big Island, Hawai'i - Wednesday, August 7, 2024
Warm greetings fellow reflection Hunters! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
For my entry in Reflection Hunters Contest: Round 179, I share with you today a few photos, that I took yesterday, of some Mysore blackberries - Rubus niveus, and their sweet reflections, with the help of my ever-trusty portable mirror. This mirror really comes in handy in this jungle of few reflections.
This blackberry bush is growing very close to the Flow House (where I live), so I keep close eye on it and its delicious fruit. Between the magenta flowers, its sumptuous fruit which start out red and turn black, its white bloom-covered stems, and even its lovely leaves, the Mysore blackberry is a quite a striking plant indeed, and a natural for photography. As I usually do, I got shots from various angles, to see what sort of magic I might find in the process. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I did when I took them! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Ah, yes, many species can spread quite aggressively indeed! This species seems quite prolific, too, both in fruit and in new runners! Oh my goodness yes, having blackberries in Hawai'i is glorious! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

The weird thing (well, not really...) is: they grow plenty in the wild here, but you are absolutely discouraged to pluck and eat them. But you can buy them in the supermarket for like 3€ for less then a handfull...

I did see (and hear from others) that many nodes had issues a few days ago (my sense of time is a bit messed up since The Walk, so can't tell for sure :-D ).
I do have the impression that it is better again now...
Why on Earth would people be discouraged from collecting and eating wild blackberries, unless the agenda does not have their best interests in mind? Clown world.
I don't know if it's still doing it, but !INDEED calls have been failing for a short time, maybe an hour, multiple days in a row, around the same time, then it starts working again a short time later. It's been solid tonight!
BBH has mostly been working, but it does so in fits and starts at times. HUG, interestingly, never stopped working as far as I know. LUV and HBIT have mostly been working again, with occasional fails. ALIVE is still dead.
The node issues seem to mess up bots all the time. I wish that we had away to ameliorate that. Yes, overall things are working better! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

As for the bots, yeah, I noticed it as well, it's mostly always around the same time that all the bots seem to choke a bit. It made me look into the timings of the bots, and I've made them dynamic now. From what I can see from the logs, it causes less timeouts on the nodes, less missed blocks, and high speed in replying now, no lags anymore, and when the bot has a lag due to whatever, it catches up pretty quickly again.
Have you noticed them still going down in the past 2-3 days?

Yep, that one is going to come back to bite those who are quickly losing power quite badly I'd say! On taxes, interestingly, when they were first implemented in the US, they were only supposed to be temporary (and voluntary). That changed, of course. Before taxes, however, there were still cities, and roads, and services. I'm not remembering how they paid for it, but it wasn't with taxes (cough, theft, cough).

Well, I do believe that for a “good” society, there always needs to be some form of “social contribution” to the community, call it taxes or anything else. The main problem is that there’s always a small group of people who starts to totally abuse that. As was the case about 2000yrs ago, as was in the Middle Ages, or in the times of the French revolution (“let them eat cake”), or now.
It’s a bit inherent to the humans kind I’m often afraid, build a system to support, and someone will start taking advantage of it, and abuse it eventually.

Yes, individual contribution to the whole is of course important. It there were one single small tax that would likely cover most necessities. I'll have to look into how things were funded before taxes. That aspect of humanity is a bit sad, true, but I know that it's also had a lot of help from nefarious elements that operate in the shadows, playing the world like a game of chess, but they control both sides, at least they did. Not so much anymore, and less so every day. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Absolutely, it usually does respond quite quickly! Oh, by the way, I keep forgetting to mention it to you. I had another hopefully useful suggestion, maybe two, for INDEED. One, is there a way to make someone's own tip-call reply messages (from @indeedly) visible in Ecency's notifications, like with ALIVE, BBH, or VSC? I see the message in notifications when someone else tips me, but not when I tip. The reason I'm asking that leads into the second suggestion, to move the tip counter of total and used tips to the top of the bot reply, so that it's easily visible in Ecency's notifications, without having to open the message to see how many calls are remaiming. I hope all that made sense. How LUV does it is great. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Oh, excellent! You're a fast one! When I made my suggestion about making the tipping comments visible, I totally forgot that I was talking about how it appears on the Ecency website, which is different from how it appears in the mobile app, so that's likely the root of the confusion. In notifications on the Ecency website, tip calls like HUG and !LUV have viable messages, including the tip number of tips remaining, so the reply doesn't have to be opened to see it. If you look at the difference between the website and the app, you'll see what I mean. I really wish the Ecency website and the mobile app were not so different. 😁🙏💚✨🤙
