⚒️ Workers of the World, Unite! ⚒️
What's up plebs?
Trumpy boy back with another coin!
And this time I have used some original Lego for my photoshoot instead of a cheap knock off from temu, just to appease to @thebighigg 😂
Let's check it out:
Let's zoom a bit:
20 kopeks from 1925, issued by the Soviet Union!
As expected, we get some nice commie symbols on the other side:
Close up
My coin is a bit dirty so here's a cleaner take from numista
Nothing surprising here, the Soviet union coat of arms with the hammer and sickle and everything.
As for the text, it reads
ПРОЛЕТАРИИ ВСЕХ СТРАН, СОЕДИНЯЙТЕСЬ!
С.С.С.Р.
For
Workers of the World, Unite!
U.S.S.R.
This one a small piece, just 3.6 grams heavy. Silverwise, it's nothing impressive either, with a purity of just 0.500.
All in all, a basic silver coin from mother Russia and a cool relic of history. I paid spot price for it which is always cool. I think 😎
Ok comrades! This is it for today, see you soon with more shiny!
Off to the gulags!

The coin is exactly 100 years old. The USSR disappeared, but the coin remains.
Awesome authentic LEGOs! lol That coin is seriously awesome, so much cool history embodied in one item. And then paying spot was a nice bonus! I think all my coins from the old soviet days were newer, I love the old ones like that!

I know that for gold, they can tell the source of the metal from the chemical composition (each geography has a different fingerprint). I'm wondering if silver could tell the same. It would be wonderful to find where they took the metal for the coins. 0.500 sounds a bit odd for silver.
!PIMP
Well it's not like they get 0.500 or whatever silver from the mines :p 0.500 is actually pretty common! Lots of old small denominations are like that

The translation of ПРОЛЕТАРИИ is actually "proletarians", the word that the soviets used for the social class that was hired to provide the labour power. "Workers" would be a better translation of "РАБОЧИЕ" (rabochiye - from where we have the word "robot"), which included proletarians AND people who were working in their own family business.
Oh indeed, thanks for the correction!

Cool piece of history. Always interesting to see how much symbolism they packed into coins.

Hammer and sickle……🤦🏻

Tsarist Russian coins are better, at least they have a bird similar to the German eagle and more silver.

"Chickens of the world, unite!"
Woah, I think I need some commie coins for my stack. Pretty sweet one dude.
I have a couple, ranging from 0.500 to 0.900!

Ah, the "good" ole days when it was still the Soviet Union.

"Wow, such a cool coin! Do you have more rare USSR coins in your collection? Love seeing unique pieces like this!"
Well it's not that rare! I think I have 4-5 of various denominations :)

It's an interesting coin. I guess context on the words would sound bad when you consider the wars, but I think its a decent text otherwise.
Hmmm, their coat of arm is very complex. It seems difficult to interpret images.
Not really, plenty of info on the internet about it :p

How about a coin for "the invisible hand?"
