🪳 Live Cockroach Found Crawling in Man's Intestines 🪳

This is one of the craziest medical cases I have read in like forever! And trust me, I have read lots of them. It was reported by the Indian Express like a week ago.

Tldr, doctors removed a live and kicking cockroach from a man's stomach. Ewww 🤢

Apparently, the 23 year old male patient reported ingestion, intestinal pains and related symptoms for a few days and after a round of tests, the doctors found a live cockroach in his small intestine. The exact tests are not mentioned but my guess is that they involved some sort of imaging. I can only imagine the "WTF" face of the radiologist. Lel.

The cockroach was promptly removed thanks to a quick endoscopy and it was found to be about 3 cm long.

As to how it managed to survive for over two days remains a mystery

“Even we were surprised as to how the cockroach managed to stay intact. For the last two-three days, the patient was suffering from indigestion and bloating after eating food. It was during routine inspections that we incidentally spotted the cockroach,” said Dr Shubham Vatsya, Senior Consultant, Gastroenterology at Fortis Hospital where the surgery took place

Dr Shubham also said that if the cockroach was to remain there it could have been proven to be fatal.

Fatal or not...All I know is that the last thing I would want is a cockroach roaming free in my intestines. Munching and pooping inside them

I looked on some other sites but there doesn't seem to be any more info on the story so here's a link again to the original news source, not that it has much else to add.

Crazy. Just fucking crazy 😶

"It's what happens when you don't thoroughly cook your cockroaches. Deep fried is best." ~ Klaus Schwab's WEF Bugs for Humanity Kitchen.

That sounds quite nasty. I wonder how that cockroach got in there. Maybe it was in the food that he ate, but I think that size would have been quite noticeable.

Another one of your stories that sends me reading. Here's an author with your penchant for finding weird creature stories: Erika Engelhaupt--National Geographic. She talks about roaches and leeches and flies and all kinds of animals that find their way into our bodies. According to her, it's a good thing the roach was alive. If it had been crushed it would have released all kinds of bacteria into the man's gut.

All the more reason to keep creepy crawly things out of our home. They have a way of creepy crawling into orifices when we are sleeping. Ugh!!

Literally the first sentence

First, let’s clear something up about recent reports of a live cockroach pulled from a woman’s skull.

I am in love with her 🥰😍
