Splinterlands battle tips: Abilities are crucial
The majority of cards in splinterlands have abilities and these abilities are not for fancy. Abilities give us an edge in battle. They spice up the game.
To win battles and climb the ranks, one has to fully grasp a good majority of the abilities and how to utilize them to the fullest because they influence games.
There are some abilities that over time, I have found to be impactful, and I have come to like them. I will be sharing them here.
One of such abilities is the tank heal ability. This is one of my favorite abilities. Units with this ability restore the health of the unit in the first position every round. So this ability tends to reinforce the longevity of the unit in the tank position.
It's common knowledge that the unit in the first position is usually the one that comes under heavy attack first. So with this tank heal ability, it's depleting health can be restored each round, further keeping it in battle to attack the enemy units.
Another incredible ability to take note of is the opportunity ability. I've noticed that this ability gives a massive advantage in battle. A unit that has this ability can attack from any position; not just that, it also targets the enemy unit that has the lowest health.
The importance of this is thata unit with this ability will start taking advantage and eliminate those units with depleted health, therefore systematically depleting the opponent's line up. Before they know it, the opponent is left with a few units in battle for you to finish off. I will reiterate again that units with ability can attack from any position. That is really cool.
The sneak ability is one ability I also think is cool. Units with this ability target the last unit on the enemy team. So while other friendly units are doing damage from the front, these units are doing damage from the back. It becomes an attack on multiple fronts.
Next is the Life Leech ability. This ability increases the health of the units health each time it depletes an enemy units health. So in a way, this ability reinforces the stay of such unit in battle, because it's health will only keep increasing. The more the health, the more difficult it is to eliminate the unit from battle.
The shield ability is another awesome ability. This ability reduces the damage reduces the damage a unit suffers from melee and ranged attacks by half. So units with this ability don't take much damages when under such type of attacks. This also makes it stay longer in battle. Having such unit on your team renders the opponent's ranged and melee attack turns less potent, giving you an edge.
The true strike ability is one I also cherish. There are times when your units launch attacks and miss their target. That becomes a waste of precious turn. However, the true strike ability solves that problem. A unit with this ability can never miss a target, no matter what abilities the target has.
Having units with these abilities and more on your team and knowing how to use them will always get you closer to victory. Sometimes, battle outcomes are determined by how well abilities are utilized.
