Putting yourself out there

Opportunities come by regularly, and usually, it's up to us to take it. I have seen people who are so good at a particular skill or field, yet they aren't in a good enough job or they aren't earning well enough considering how good they are and they miss a lot of opportunities.

This goes on to show that being really good at something is necessary, but sometimes it's not enough. You have to put yourself out there.

Every product needs advertisement. Companies advertise their product for consumers to know about it, and its importance, so they can use it.
The same applies to us. If you don't put yourself out there, people won't know what you offer. It's like advertising yourself and your skills.

The question now is, how do you put yourself out there? It's simple. Talk about what you do. We live in a world where social media is in vogue right now. Social media is there for you to display your expertise. Talk about what you do and love. Showcase how good you are. Dazzle as much as you can. This way people see you and know that you are good at a particular thing.

The advantage of this is that when an opportunity comes, someone in your audience will remember that you would be a good candidate for that opportunity. There's nothing as good as people knowing you and what you do best.

Putting yourself out there helps you build connections. You get to connect with people who are privy to opportunities. They could easily recommend you to an opportunity once it pops up.

Over and over again, I've seen people who got great paying jobs just by having fun posting about what they know and do best. There are so many opportunities in our world today, you just have to present yourself.

Putting yourself out there goes beyond being online. It also applies physically too. Attending events, engaging in talks, networking with people. They all add to putting yourself out there .

I realise that for some people, putting themselves out there can be uncomfortable and difficult, but growth sometimes can be uncomfortable, but it's necessary. It mustn't be all at once. It can be a gradual step. Basically just showing up as much as you can.
Opportunities are like a chain reaction. One opportunity can lead to another better opportunity, and so on.
