The world is now online. So many things we never thought would go online are going online.
Most of our details are online, we fill online forms with our home address, we fill in our card details in order to pay for stuff online. Sometimes, our financial details are online.
The concern here is privacy and consequently, safety. There have been cases where people have lost their money just because their financial details were online. Maybe their wallet got hacked, or something else. Imagine how it feels losing your life savings due to some online hack. It's the worst feeling ever. One would feel absolutely devastated.
Also, imagine having your private details like your contact address, health records, name of family members, and even work addresses falling into the wrong hands. If someone who has a bad motive, probably a dangerous person gets a hold of such private information from the internet, it can put an individual's safety at risk.
There has never been a time when online safety and privacy were crucial than now. We have to be careful where we store private things like passwords, wallet phrases, card details and all that. Again, if they fall into the wrong hands, it's can be disastrous.
Also, while filling forms online, we have to be careful when putting our details. You have to stop and ask yourself if that platform is secure, genuine and legit enough for you to put in such details. If you see some red flags, it is advisable not to give your personal details.
There have been cases where terrible individuals get people's details online and stalk them or cause harm. This highlights the need to be privacy and safety conscious online.
There have been ethical concerns where people's private data were used to train AI models. A lot of people aren't comfortable with that. There have also been cases where people's data were leaked from a social media platform. Such situations usually do not end up in a palatable manner.
In conclusion, the world is online, and so are threats. It is important to protect your personal information as much as possible to prevent being a victim of a terrible situation.
If we take the right steps and precautions, we won't be victims of hacks, theft, stalking and other terrible things. You won't lose your life savings or the money you worked so hard for just in a hack if you take the necessary precautions.
