Innovations I would bring to hive
Hive is such a special place. It's an amazing place for people, not just to write, but to learn, interact and earn. Just like every good thing, hive can even be better. I'll suggest some developments I would bring to hive if I had the power.
The first is direct messages. We can make posts on hive and comment on each other's posts, but there's no provision for direct messages (dm). Direct messages can help foster friendships on hive. People will be able to connect more. Since direct messages are private, individuals on hive would feel free to discuss with other hivians.
Because there is no provision for direct messages at the moment, writers on hive just have to make do with communicating on discord. We can all see the level of engagement brought about by comments. Imagine how high engagement would be when direct messages are introduced.
Direct messaging helps with privacy as well. There are times when one would want to discuss something private with another person. There's no way to do that on hive because it will be visible to the public. Direct messages can take care of this problem.
Another cool feature I would introduce is the bookmark feature. We have all come across a post that we think is so good, we would love to read it again. After a while, searching for that post to read again would prove to be a challenging task. This problem can be solved with a bookmark feature.
With the bookmark feature, when you come across a post you love and would like to read again in the future, you can just bookmark it. Later, you can easily go to your bookmarks and access that post. Most of us use X (formerly known as Twitter) regularly. Bookmark is a popular feature if X. It has been very useful to me when it comes to keeping tabs on posts I would make reference to every now and then.
Many can attest to the usefulness of the bookmark feature on X. That's how I know it would be very useful on hive. I can't count how many times I've had to spend time looking for a post I want to make reference to. Bookmarks would be such a valuable feature for newbies on hive. There have been posts made that can effectively guide newbies on how to navigate on hive. The bookmark feature would definitely help newbies keep tabs on such posts.
One more feature I would add if I had the power is voice chat for community meetings. It would be nice if communities had meetings on hive, so the members can better connect and brainstorm ways to make the community better. This can be made possible with a voice chat feature.
With this feature, people would make more friends on hive. There would be more interactions and engagements.
In community meetings, members can lay down issues they are facing or make suggestions that they think would make the community a great place to blog, and the moderators would be able to take note of them. In the end, it all leads to the progress of the community.
