Having a clone? No please
The idea of having a clone is interesting but weird. I can’t imagine having another version of me that looks exactly like me, same eyes, same nose, same face, voice, body structure and all that. I don’t think it will be a good thing.
Before I talk about why I don’t like it, let’s explore why some people may want clones.
With clones, you can be at two places at once. This is like having a superpower. For example, while you’re at work, the clone can go to the market. One could even work two full time jobs at the same time with the help of a clone. You’ll be at one job while the clone fills in for you at the other job.
Basically, the benefit of having a clone is that it gives you the ability to carry out more tasks, be at more places at once and be there more for people.
Now, over to why I’m not a fan of clones. One thing that makes us unique is our originality. If that is taken away, then there’s a problem. When people find out you have a clone, you lose your originality. People can mistake you for your clone and vice versa.
In fact, they may think your clone is the real you and regard you as the clone. Your clone could basically take over your life and live it and there’s nothing you can do about it because for all they know, you’re probably the clone. This is one way thing can go really bad.
Another way things can go wrong is your clone having a rogue mindset. One’s clone could commit a crime, and then you the original person gets arrested for it. Imagine your clone doing terrible things and people think you’re the one that did it because there’s no way to differentiate.
I don’t even want a clone close to my friends and family. I believe no two persons are the same, including clones. Your friends, family and partners love and care about you because you’re you. You’re unique. If that uniqueness gets compromised and they start to interact with a clone of you, it could damage your personal relationships. People lose trust in you because they don’t know which side of you they are getting. They may not know which is the real you.
In conclusion, as enticing as it may be, having a clone would be a threat to one’s originality, and that can be a serious problem with massive consequences.
It really looks somehow having a clone of someone
