All about the new reward cards and new abilities
I like to talk about cards in splinterlands, and I get excited when new ones are introduced. Well, I am delighted to discuss an interesting update.
The exciting news is that from the 15th of August, brand new reward cards will be released. This set of Rebellion reward cards can be obtained using glint and they will be soulbound, meaning that they cannot be sold, bought, traded, rented, delegated or even used on land). The only way you can get them is through rarity draws and loot chests in your local reward shops.
You might be wondering, what will now happen to the Chaos Legion reward cards that are soulbound?
Well, those cards will go out of print, hence they won't be available in the reward shop. But don't fret. They will become unbindable. This means that you can unbound them, thereby making it possible for these cards to be sold, bought, traded, rented, delegated and used on land.
The rebellion reward cards can be unbound when they also go out of print.
Now, the rebellion reward cards will be the same size as chaos legion. Hence, there will be 12 common cards, 12 rare cards, 7 epic cards and 12 legendary cards.
Let's talk about abilities.
With the introduction of these reward cards, also comes the introduction of new abilities to make battles exciting. Here they are.
Execute
If after an attack, a target has 2 or less health remaining, another attack is carried out against that same unit.
Mimic
At the start of round 2 and subsequent rounds, units with the mimic ability gain one random ability from the opposing team. There is a 25% chance to get a random ability from an enemy unit when attacked by it. However, there are caveats to this ability. The dispel ability removes on mimicked in the order in which they were obtained.
Some abilities cannot be mimicked. Such abilities include Reach, Ambush, targeting, weapons training, taunt, flank and charge. Debilitations cannot also be mimicked.
Wingbreak
Units with this ability always target enemy units that have the flying ability, regardless of the other abilities or the ruleset. A damage of +2 is done to such target with flying ability
Corrupted healing
It restores one third of max health to units of the same team each round. Furthermore, everytime a unit is healed, its max health is depleted by 1
Debilitations will also be introduced with the rebellion reward cards. Here are the three debilitations that will be introduced.
Electrified
At the start of each round, it delivers 1 damage to all allied units
Incendiary
It reintroduces burning at the start of each round. Burning has a 33% chance of spreading to adjacent units at the start of each round, making all burning units to lose 2 health. However, it is possible to cleanse burning.
Weary
Weary units have a 10% chance of getting exhausted each round. This chance keeps increasing by 10% every round, with a maximum of 80% allowed. Units that are exhausted skip their turn, as cannot retaliate as a result.
I am really looking forward to August 15th when these reward cards will be made available. Their addition, as well as the new abilities and debilitations will sure make the splinterlands battle experience more fun.
