Uddy Went For It.

You see this life ehn...., sometimes it is just to take that bold step and just go for something whether or not it will makes sense to people. That is exactly what my sister Uddy did recently, and honestly,and to say I am still impressed.

So we were both in that “I just finished OND and now I am in limbo” stage, She studied something entirely different from mine (Tourism Management), but we both finished from Yabatech and were both trying to figure out what next, Things have not really been exactly been smooth financially, and we have both had to manage a lot these past few months, but one day, just out of nowhere, my younger sister just said, “I want to try streaming.”

Me at first I was like, “Hmm .... Streaming? You mean like gaming or singing?” She laughed and said, “No o, it is more like just coming online, being live, talking to people, making them laugh, and getting paid , you know like how they do tiktok live na.”

Well , I did not want to discourage her , but somehow in my mind I was thinking, “This girl don dey dream big o.” Because we have heard stories about people doing these online streaming things and getting scammed or wasting their time with no results, I even told her to try dust up her hive account, but she was like ehnnnn.....

See Uddy was not even listening to anybod, She set up her small space in one corner of our room in the house there, put small background cloth, arranged her face, used the little data she had and just started, She would go live almost every day , sometimes just dancing, sometimes just talking about random things and laughing with strangers and she was consistent.

“Are you sure they even pay?” I asked her one evening when she called me on video call

“I don’t know yet,” she said, “But let me just keep going. Make I try am for one month first.”

Yeah... True to her word, she kept at it, Sometimes my cousin said she would walk into the room and see her smiling at her phone screen like one radio presenter, and other times, she would be quiet, looking at her screen like nothing was happening, buut she didn’t stop.

Then just last week, she called me up on phone , after sending a screenshot, her face shining like morning sun.

“Guess how much I made this month,” she said.

“Like how much? 5 dollars?” I replied.

She laughed and said check your DM I sent you screenshot ,59 dollars. I was shocked.

“Wait what??????? Are you for real?” I said.

“Yes now , They have sent it already I just converted it. It will really help with my project.”

I wish I could hug her tight that day but I was so proud of her She didn’t wait for anybody’s validation, She just went ahead and did her thing , Even though she was not sure whether it would work, she threw caution to the wind, and it totally paid off.

See sometimes, it is not about having everything figured out, It is about starting, even when you are not sure, my sister taught me that this month.
