My Habit of Sleeping During the Day and Staying Awake at Night
You know everyone has that one habit that has shifted something in their lifes, you see for some people, it is by waking up early, reading every day, going to the gym,and yeah… even learning to say “no” more than often. You See but for me, my own habit is not really one of those typical positive transformation kind of things. I will not exactly say that it changed my life for the better, but it definitely changed how I reason and view things kind of.
So you see this particular habit I am talking about is sleeping during the day sometimes if I feel like, and staying awake at night , it sounds weird, right? Hehe
.. I know. But let me explain how it all started.
So at first, it was not even something I had planned , It just happened little by little, so back then, I was so very involved in some online activities, especially things like airdrops , telegram mining, I even had other people account I was running for them , because I needed the money, so You know all those late-night tasks you do hoping to get crypto rewards or free tokens that, at the end of the day, don’t even come through? Yeah…. Those things….i was deep in all of that, i wasted time ,data, energy…none was productive, well let's shift from that.
Most of those tasks used to drop around midnight or very early in the morning, so I had to adjust my sleep schedule to be awake during those times. I would sleep in the afternoon or evening, wake up at odd hours, and then get busy online ,so at first, I thought it was just temporary like for a moment, like you know something I will switch back from when the “airdrops season” was over, But before I knew it, it had become a lifestyle.
Then there was a time when things around me were not going smoothly, like family stuff, personal worries, fear of the unknown etc …. ,I found it hard to sleep at night, even when I was not doing anything online, My mind would just be spinning , going to different places, and somehow, the night became my thinking space, and everything was quiet. No distractions. No noises just me and my thoughts.
And even till now, that habit has stayed with me, Some days I wonder if it is a good or bad thing , I mean like it is not the healthiest sleep pattern out there, let’s just be honest. But there’s something about the peace of the night that helps me think clearly, and thinking clearly has helped me make better decisions about life, school, personal goals, even relationships.
During the day, everything is always moving fast. Calls here and there, noise, people around, one chore or another waiting to be done. But at night, it’s like the whole world slows down. It’s in those quiet moments that I find myself planning thinking about where I am in life, what I want to do next, how to solve a particular problem, or just reflecting on how far I have come.
So even though I did not intentionally plan this habit, it has just become part of me, and in some strange way, it is helping me sha… I have come to realise that not all habits have to be perfect or to look a certain way to be meaningful. Some are just... real, they happen because of life, because of the season one is in, or the things you have gone through.
This habit may not have made me a millionaire, or turned me into a super productive person (yet), but it hashelped me understand myself more. It has given me room to think deeply, evaluate, and plan and that alone is something I really do value.
Sometimes I still try to return to a more normal sleep pattern, especially when I have school or something early the next day, But with that, I always find myself drawn back to my night routines somehow ,Maybe it is just who I am now, or maybe it’s the season I am in.
So if you ask me whether this habit has changed my life for the better, I will that say maybe not in the obvious way people expect ,but it has helped me gain clarity of things, and for now, that is enough for me.
And who knows maybe all those quiet night thoughts are just preparing me for something big.

I've been trying to reset my internal clock over the last year but I still shut down for a 2 PM nap and stay up past midnight. I was a Night Shift nurse for the previous 10 years. A tough habit to break.
I see why it's hard to just break yours.
But it's doesn't affect you right?
Some weeks ago, I was on this boat. It affected so I had to try and reset it. And honestly, I don’t even wish what I went through on my worse enemy. If it helps you deal with things then that’s fine. But me? I’m never going back to that place.
By the way, I hope you don’t have dark circles around your eyes.
Sorry about your experience. Yeah in a way it helps me
Hmm about dark circles? ... I don't have them every time, it's only when I am not home during the day , that's when it affects me , like if I'm in school or somewhere else
Wow staying up in the night is one habit that have been in me and i enjoy it. Night are very quite to read and research internet in the night is so fast sis you are not alone on this.
Absolutely, we all need to change this habit. Today, we are seeing that every young person stays up all night and sleeps during the day. Even doctors say that this is a risk of health deterioration. Therefore, it is better to know that we have to end this habit if we want to live a good and healthy life.
the late sleeping is also a habit that i have to tackle from my end, and guess what i still have to work up and prepare for work, and yes am working on balancing my sleep time
I hope you are able to tackle it well, cos it ain't easy.

Very true, our thinking does produced sound answers to our unknown questions at night, but this habits is good when we are alone in the room, if not, someone that was in the room with us might get frightened, when they find out we are not asleep.
