Last Eastern Journeys (Horizon Forbidden West Photomode)
I am back for more, and am still stuck on the eastern frontier before I get to the edgier side of the western front. By that I mean, different clans, different beats, different weather too. The post apocalyptical side of 31st century California. Man, that's not a phrase I'd thought I use.
Aloy, as much as she should have gone to the west, had to stick around this border town in order to wait for the embassy to help her receive audience with the Tenakth. Problem is, I got busy with the grinding, fetch quests, leveling up, I mean, I died so easily at first, I thought I needed a shake up. And I am guessing this is where older players get to familiarize with the game again.
Still, wanted to get to the west sooner, and after few hours I did. The cinematics, the intense conflict, and battles did not disappoint. This game was setting me up for a really trippy roller coaster ride. So here's a couple of pictures before the further west of Horizon.
Ah yes, the savior relegated to just camping on the outskirts. Though, this would be a good time to relax. The path ahead leaves a lot of struggles to deal with.
Found a makeshift town called Chainscrape, where the Oseran and Carja sort of live in harmony. Long as business flows, sure. Also, some interesting treasures underneath the bridge. This whole thing slowly turns into Far Cry with all the gathering, hunting, and doing errand quests.
Now we're talking, hidden treasures. This was a nice spot. Also, the shot.
I apologize if the screenshots are looking darker. It's hard to tell with the HDR on from my monitor, and I didn't realize till now that the image is like this. But hey, mountains from Utah.
It was around this point that Aloy found a trail of dead Bristlebacks, obviously leading her to follow their cold trails. I found some ruins on the way, of what used to be a suburban house, had treasures to be found and eventually more use of the climbing gear I've had all along.
I'll be real, this game doesn't feel consistent in design in terms of gameplay and level design after playing longer. But, this is still a Horizon game, just bigger, and in some parts, actually better. But I think Guerrilla could do some Q/A checking on how they design gameplay for large open world games. But I like how intense, and crazier combat has become.
Our old friend Erend, not a minute to waste on putting real hurt on the machines. Though, he really needs a good sparring partner, bro ended his streak with that Bristleback.
Speaking of Bristlebacks, I have to clean his mess up now. That's just one, there's two more hiding behind, as well as a scrounger, and Burrower. This was tough, Bristlebacks were spewing chemicals, and crazy charging at me. While being surrounded by others. I died once.
Managed to take control of a charger, and started heading towards Barren Light. Again, sorry for the image.
Oh wow, even the caves here look insane. I got to hand it to the devs for this one. Unfortunately, I don't have the tools to go over there, I even found an underwater cave, and had to use a travel pack to get out.
Finally, West. I've reached West. Also, this image is tuned differently, it's more sandy in its raw form. But yeah, California here I come. After fighting some crazy clans, who had a civil war going, Aloy finally got out, and trek to new frontier. I'll admit, things might get a lot crazier here. That fight was intense.

Whenever I see this title I always pity the fact that the collaboration with Genshin Impact never seems to include Aloy as well as making her a very bad person to play with compared to everyone else, still it looks very cool and the orange tones I love, they remind me of autumn :D
