The Distance

When you hear things like “We've been together for 3 years, 5 years then in a few cases 8 years don't be quick to say awwn. Oh yes! I'll tell you why.

I did say awwn when my current special someone told me that his previous relationship lasted for 5 years and it was a long distance at that.
Then, we were barely friends. That's right, I didn't tell you that I have known my special for almost a year before it left that ground.

Back to what i was saying, he's relationship with his ex lasted for 5 years but in between got into 3 other relationships. According to him, his ex cheated first and didn't even feel the need to stop even after the confrontation and he too decided to do the same.
Ah, after hearing this side of the story, I took back my awwn first before reflecting on how naive my thought was initially.

Before a relationship, first comes attraction and this attraction expires over time if things aren't well nurtured and this is the reason why most relationships of 5 years and more are all jokes.

It was later I even realized that some of these relationships that are long distance were initially secondary school sweethearts and because of these reasons no one wants to be the first to call it off.

Now to me, the initial stage of my relationship wasn't long distant. Honestly It wasn't in the plan to make it a long distance ride someday, not that i had anything against long distance either way.

Well, I knew I would be able to cope and if there would be a little trouble, it would be my special someone. However, I choose not to worry too much and just live in the moment. And so far have gotten used to this feeling.
Thinking about it now, It's all thanks to my special someone who hasn't given me any reason to doubt whether he's doing something fishy or not.. At the very least, the cards are played pretty well, and I guess that's all that matters.

Trust remains the foundation of every solid relationship and understandable communication as it's building blocks.. In as much as these remain, moving on with the flow becomes very easy and my peace of mind is very important to me too.

Aside from that, the call to self dependency is also one vital advantage of long distance. For someone like me who doesn't know how to ask for help of any kind, working to meet up my needs and being able to lend help sometimes is growth.

Enclosed relationships suffer loss if it lacks these, not to talk more on long distance relationships..
Its advantages are very good when clinging to a matured mind,and any relationship that could give you peace is worth keeping.
