My first love poem
A necessary introduction

The above becomes more interesting if I tell you that the diverse criteria occurred between different generations, because, while those of us who are almost 60 years old had a way of celebrating this day, those of the younger generation thought that we were out of fashion.
The topic in question was related to telling an experience around the day of Love and Friendship and the way in which each of us assumed the tribute and recognition of the other party.
A question guided the debate:
What do you give your partner on the Day of Love and Friendship?
The responses were varied.
In this publication I leave you the one I gave and my favorite gift.
My best gift
When it was my turn to respond, I said that I gave my wife poems and several of those present began to laugh. Some for mocking others for thinking that despite my manly state I did not have the capacity to give a poetic gift.
An explanation and a pretext
When I explained the way in which the poems had been created for my wife, the faces changed and most of them applauded or congratulated me for my way of revering the love of my life.
I tell you that I am not a poet nor do I have the necessary knowledge to construct a poetic piece correctly, but when you are in love and want to conquer someone you look for the most beautiful ways to do it.
In my case, I composed my first poetry at the end of 1997. I did it for a contest that was held at the school where I worked, where my current wife was the director.
It happens that the poems were read on February 14 and everyone found out who the recipient was. At that time, we had barely been in a relationship for 5 months.
My wife liked the poem so much that, every February 14, 1998 until today, I have had to first give as a gift a combination of letters and words that I try to call poetry.
My first poem
Here I leave you that gift that was first made into poetry and that, after so much searching, I decided to call it “Simply Love.”
Simply love
Lost, he walked without finding direction,
I wandered without a fixed place,
Blind of the soul, full of oblivion,
Deaf of voice, dumb of hearing.
And suddenly you appear like a saving light,
And you place me at the center of your tender heart,
You give me back my body, my soul, my life,
And you finally take me out of that black hell.
What did you do to brighten my life?
Did you perhaps give me a fountain of things?
Well, I don't think so, you only gave me roses,
With petals of love and living tenderness.
How do I define that passion I feel?
Intense burning fire?
Perhaps incalculable and living love?
Or maybe not: simply world.
And what I feel for you is so strong
I'm afraid to say it loudly,
This is love incalculable and true,
This is elegant and true love.
After explaining the reason for these poems and listening to the first one I gave to my wife, they thanked me for the explanation and some assured me that they would try to make these types of gifts.
Note: I have used Google translator.

Dedicating this poem to your wife is a sweet gesture of love. Her presence brought you back to your true purpose and redirected your path. Nowadays, many people are focused on giving and receiving material gifts that we sometimes miss the deeper meaning of gift-giving and gratitude. I hope you and your wife will keep the flame of love alive!
Thank you very much for your words.
I must tell you that my wife and I are going to be 28 years old and in all these years, the first gift for the day of love is a poem dedicated to her who is my favorite muse.
Happy day.
Cheers and greetings.
Your words make me think that you are a loving husband. Both of you are lucky to have found each other. Still standing strong and in love for 28 years.☺️ I believe the love poem (with genuine intentions and deeds) has some magic influence on your committed union. Cheers!
