En el 2026 se realizará el VI Clásico Mundial de Béisbol, la principal competición de este deporte a nivel de selecciones nacionales.

Los sueños con el béisbol cubano

Somos muchos los que seguimos soñando con tener un béisbol que se sitúe en el top 5 del deporte internacional y, nos devuelva las alegrías que antaño nos proporcionaba el deporte colectivo con más títulos olímpicos y mundiales.

Pero, para convertir en realidades los sueños que queremos, es necesario que los alimentemos con ingredientes que permitan alcanzar ese objetivo; de lo contrario, se convertirá en pesadilla eterna.

Realidades del béisbol cubano actual

En estos momentos estamos desarrollando la Serie Nacional y nuestro deporte nacional atraviesa por una serie de dificultades que, para una mejor comprensión, podemos agruparlas en económicas, estructurales y técnico-tácticas.

Problemáticas económicas. Hasta donde tengo conocimiento, el béisbol se juega en horario nocturno, los jugadores viven de ese trabajo y tienen condiciones de juego, de vida y de otro tipo. Esto no pasa en nuestra liga porque debido a las serias limitaciones económicas hay que jugar por la tarde y, esto es negativo para la salud de los peloteros porque aumentan las lesiones y tienen que estar expuestos al sol durante largas horas, algo que es dañino para la salud y limita el rendimiento de estos. De igual manera, el salario que reciben es insuficiente y no alcanza para cubrir sus necesidades básicas, lo que impide que estos se entreguen al máximo o que no siempre se perciba todo lo que se debe sobre la base del rendimiento.

Nuestros atletas llegan a la Serie Nacional de Béisbol con problemas que deben ser corregidos en edades inferiores y esto baja la calidad de nuestra principal competición deportiva.
