The Truth About Making Money and the Illusion on Social Media

Making money, especially in a legitimate way, is not easy. It takes time, effort, skill, and sometimes even a bit of luck. But if you go online today, you might think that making millions is as simple as clicking a few buttons. This is especially true when it comes to tech. Many people in the tech world talk about their seven-figure salaries or massive profits from software, crypto, or forex trading. They make it look like tech is the only way to make real money, and if you’re not into it, you’re missing out.

But that’s far from the truth.

Let’s face it, social media is a place where people only show the highlight reels of their lives. Very few people will show you the struggles behind the scenes. You see the cars, the vacations, the designer clothes, and screenshots of earnings, but you don’t see the sleepless nights, the loans, the risks that didn’t work out, or even the lies. Some of those screenshots and flashy lifestyles are not real. They’re just for show. In fact, many of the people flaunting wealth online might not be as rich as they want you to believe. Some borrow or rent things just to keep up appearances.

Also, tech is not the only road to success. Yes, tech is powerful, and it's changing the world, but that doesn't mean people in other fields aren't doing well. Many business owners, traders, teachers, farmers, and people working regularly with 9-to-5 jobs are building solid lives, raising families, and even achieving financial stability. Just because they don’t shout about it on the internet doesn't mean they’re not winning.

In fact, many people who are truly successful are quiet about it. They don’t have to prove anything to anyone. They’re too busy building real wealth and impact. But because the loudest people on social media often come from the tech or crypto space, it makes it seem like they are the only ones making it.

It’s also important to know that not everyone will work in tech, and that’s okay. The world needs all kinds of workers: nurses, engineers, teachers, mechanics, artists, and many more. Every role is important, and success looks different for everyone. You don’t have to earn millions to be fulfilled or proud of your achievements.

So let’s not allow social media pressure to confuse us. Making money the right way; legally, honestly, and consistently, is a journey. There are many roads to wealth, and each person should find what works for them. Whether you’re in tech or not, your path is valid.

More people in regular jobs and businesses should also share their success stories. The world needs to see that you don’t have to be in tech to be successful. Let’s celebrate honest work, smart planning, and long-term growth because, in the end, slow and steady often wins the race.

What a lovely post...well said...enjoyed reading your thoughts.

The Aesop Fable of 'The Turtle and Hare' came to mind with your last paragraph.

Kind Regards, Bleujay
