The Mystery of Life
Life is full of mysteries that no one can fully understand. Yesterday, I was having a conversation with someone, and he asked me a simple but deep question: “Is there anyone who truly knows how this life works?” Honestly, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that none of us really has the answers. Things happen around us every day that we can not explain or predict. You might go to bed feeling perfectly fine, only to hear that someone else, who was also healthy and strong, didn’t wake up the next morning. How do we explain that?
Sometimes, sickness takes one person’s life, while another with the same or even worse condition survives. It just doesn’t make sense. Then there are people who work so hard, giving their all to chase their dreams, but no matter how much effort they put in, things don’t work out for them. Meanwhile, someone else who barely puts in half the effort seems to find success easily. It makes you wonder why life feels unfair at times.
Love, too, has its own share of mystery. One person may be deeply in love with someone who doesn’t feel the same way, while that person is chasing another who also doesn’t return their love. It creates a chain of unbalanced feelings, and no matter how much we try, things never seem perfectly mutual. Nothing in this life is ever one hundred percent balanced.
Some people believe that all these happenings are just “nature” taking its course, but I don’t fully agree. If we think deeply, where did nature itself come from? I believe there is a higher power behind everything; the Almighty God. The presence of God is undeniable, even though we can’t always understand His ways. Sometimes, we pray and believe, yet life still throws challenges, pain, and even persecution our way. Having faith doesn’t mean our journey will be free of hardship, but it gives us hope that there is a purpose, even when we don’t see it.
Life has a way of humbling us because no matter how smart, powerful, or prepared we are, there are situations beyond our control. Some things are simply not for us to understand. That’s why it’s important to live each day with gratitude and intention. I’ve personally found myself caught in a cycle of consuming meaningless content just to pass time. It’s comfortable, like living in a bubble, but it doesn’t lead to growth. These days, I’ve been trying to be more intentional, focusing on learning, doing meaningful things, and creating value.
The truth is, life will never make complete sense to us. There will always be unanswered questions, unexpected turns, and painful realities. But through it all, trusting in God gives us strength. Even when we don’t have control, we can have faith that there is a bigger picture we just can’t see yet. That, to me, is the greatest mystery and the greatest comfort.
