Ode to Grandmother

Looking at you fills me with wonder,
Knowing you were once much younger
Could run with ease, unaided feet,
Now guided gently down the street.

Your beauty then, beyond compare,
Photos show a graceful air.
Now, you walk with steady aid,
Grandchildren by you, love displayed.

Hair once black and silky fine,
Now it gleams; a silver shine.
Teeth once strong to crush a stone,
Now rest when fish is on the bone.

The tales you share, so rich, so wise,
May you live where heaven lies.
Without you, life would feel so hollow
You birthed the great, we proudly follow.
You nursed the best, with love so mellow.

Your youthful trends, now old-fashioned,
Once cute grey hair, by time’s hand dampened.
For life is fleeting just a phase,
A maiden once in lovers’ gaze.

The aged are treasures, ever true,
I'm still watching all the young ones through.
Though bodies fade, their spirits rise,
With strength that age can’t compromise.

Greetings @toluwanispecial ,

Lovely poem....lovely work....so true.

...especially of those who have said yes to God's plan for them....they exchange youth for wisdom. Proverbs 8.

Yes, our God is kind enough to take good care of us and protect us from all kinds of evils. May His name be praise forever.
