Living a purposeful life
Not long ago, a dear friend and member of my church passed away. Many people cried when they heard the news, asking why it happened to him, especially since he didn't have any children. They felt his death was tragic because they believed that without children, his name would be forgotten. They would think the same if it were me who had died.
Two years later, I wrote an article saying that if I had died then, it wouldn't have been a tragedy. People would think it was because I don't have a husband or children to carry on my name. But to me, that doesn't matter. That's not what truly living means to me.
There are many people with children and money who don't understand what it means to truly live. These are the people who deserve to be mourned, not people like me who have lived fully and are ready to go when the Lord calls.
I'm young, but I'm not afraid of death; to me, death is a gain. I try to make the most of my life, learning from my mistakes and doing what I believe I was sent to do, even if it's hard. Nothing else matters; that's what it means to live.
Sadly, many people don't truly live. They're afraid to make decisions that will help them truly live and always want to play it safe. These people are dead inside even though they're alive.
Not everyone who is born truly lives, but everyone will die. The worst tragedy isn't death; it's dying without having truly lived. Don't cry for those who have lived fully and passed on; cry for those who are alive but don't know what it means to live. Help them if you can; that might be your purpose in life.
I have two questions for you, but I'll only answer one.
Are you truly living?
What does it mean to truly live?
For me, to truly live means to find your life's purpose and start fulfilling it right where you are. Until you start doing this, no matter what you have or who you think you are, you are not truly living.
Life isn't about how much money you make, how many lives you touch, how many children you have, or even the legacy you leave behind. It's about finding and fulfilling your purpose until your last breath. Once you start doing this, everything else will fall into place.
Have you found your life's purpose? If your answer is no, then you haven't started living yet.
