Life in Its Simplicity

Life is simple, but it is we humans that often make it complicated. Deep inside every heart is the desire for something beautiful, maybe a peaceful home by the sea, a dream job, a happy family, or just a life free from worry. These dreams are valid, and almost everyone has them. But reality sometimes tells a different story.

The truth is, we don’t always get what we want, at least not in the way we imagined. It’s not because we don’t try or that we lack the will, but many times, our efforts are limited by factors beyond our control. Financial struggles are one of the most common barriers. You may want to go to school, start a business, travel, or buy a home, but if you don’t have the money, everything becomes difficult. And even when money is not the problem, health can become an issue. That’s life; it doesn’t always follow our plans.

Another thing we see in life is how society places people in boxes. From a young age, we are told what we should or should not do based on our gender. Some jobs are considered for men, while others are seen as jobs for women. For instance, careers like engineering, construction, or plumbing are often seen as men’s work, while teaching, nursing, or secretarial roles are seen as women’s jobs. This way of thinking has stopped many people from following the path they truly want.

But times are changing. With the growth of technology and artificial intelligence, many jobs are being taken over by machines. Yet, not all jobs can be replaced. Fields like plumbing, caregiving, or artistry still need the human touch. It is also becoming more normal to see women in tech, construction, and leadership, just as more men are becoming nurses, chefs, and teachers. Slowly, people are beginning to see that passion and skill matter more than gender.

Still, life remains unpredictable. Sometimes, things happen that we can not explain. Someone gets a job they didn’t even apply for, while another person keeps trying and gets nothing. A healthy person suddenly falls ill, while someone with health challenges lives longer than expected. It reminds us that there are some things only God can explain.

So what do we do? We keep moving. We keep dreaming. We keep working. Most importantly, we pray. We ask for strength, direction, and support from our Maker. Life may not always be fair, but we can still make the best of it. Even when our plans change or things don’t go as expected, we must never stop believing that good things can still happen. Because in the simplicity of life, hope is what keeps us going.
