The day I almost burn down my house!

Yesterday, I woke up, prayed, and got ready for work. I cooked my favorite food, rice, and then proceeded to warm up my stew. After eating, I dressed for work, leaving my stew on the stove. Unfortunately, I forgot to turn off the gas.

My workplace is 30 minutes away from my town. While going to work, my instincts told me I hadn't turned off the gas, but I waved it off, thinking I had. I started to think about my morning routine, but I couldn't recall turning off the gas.

Since I always take my keys with me, there was no one to call and check. Thankfully, no one called me to report anything burning at home. I assumed everything was fine.

After work, I stopped by the market to buy some fresh groceries. By the time I arrived home, it was already after 4 pm. As I opened the door, I was hit with the smell of burnt stew. I rushed to the kitchen to find my stew completely burnt, but to my surprise, the gas was turned off.

I was amazed and grateful, wondering if someone had entered my home and turned off the gas. I asked my neighbors if they had seen any flames or smelled anything unusual, but they said they only noticed a strange odor and thought it was coming from the next house.

All my neighbors was also surprised, because no one knows the smell was from my room.

It wasn't until later, when I turned on the gas to boil some meat, that I realized the gas might have turned off automatically due to exhaustion.

After realizing how close I had come to disaster, I couldn't shake off the feeling of gratitude and relief. I took a deep breath, sat down, and tried to process what had just happened.

As I was thinking about it , I remembered a story I had read online about a woman who had forgotten to turn off her gas stove. She had returned home to find that her house had narrowly escaped a gas explosion. The woman had smelled gas when she arrived home, but after turning off the stove, she had gone out to run some errands. When she returned, she had turned on the stove again, unaware that gas was still leaking. The stove had exploded, burning her hand severely.

As I reflected on the experience, I realized that it had taught me a valuable lesson about being more mindful and responsible. I had always taken my safety and the safety of those around me for granted, but this close call had made me realize that complacency can be dangerous.

I decided to take steps to ensure that something like this would never happen again. I made a mental note to always double-check the gas stove and other appliances before leaving the house.

The rest of the day was a blur, but I couldn't help but feel a sense of appreciation for the small mercies in life. I had come close to losing everything, but thanks to a combination of luck and divine intervention, I had been given a second chance.

This experience taught me a valuable lesson: always double-check everything, especially potentially hazardous things like gas and electricity. From now on, I'll be more mindful and cautious.

Thank you, Almighty God, for your protection and mercy.

Have you had any experience about gas stove?
