First Time Sitting on 100% Upvote Mana
Hive activity near all time lows
I have been using hive.vote for a very long time so I was surprised to see that my voting mana is sitting idle at 100%. Since the auto voting app is working, it means that the tool hasn't been able to vote on any "fans" that I follow (in total there are over 250). In other words, people here do not seem to post as frequently as before. This of course is not very surprising since Hive's price is at 6 cents. And it is no secret that the activity of a chain directly corresponds to the price it.
So activity is low? Currently we only have around 18k daily active users on Hive. Or perhaps we should say accounts, since many of these are bots. Maybe two third of that number are actual people? Who knows... Activity has been this low or lower in 2020 when we got the big covid crash, although it seems very strange that this crash is so evident in the chart here. Again, bots?
The only time it was even lower twas in 2016 and 2017 when Steem first started to produce blocks. Yes, we are back at the beginning it seems; at least from a price and activity point of view... So much else has changed really that it is unfortunate that we are stuck here once more. Perhaps the silver lining here is that this can be said about virtually all other projects out there.

Hard times. Reach out in the comments if you feel your content needs curation. I'll check it out since it seems I should update my fan base again. I feel everyone should be getting a badge in these times for sticking around. Kudos to anyone actually still building. Happy to see that Dan is back on his feet again. Oh, and should I restart Love The Clouds?

I think you’re being too optimistic — based on my feeling, it’s around 1–2 thousand. I mean those who actually write and curate. In Splinterlands it might be more, but I’m not sure.
it would be interesting to know for sure. I mean on the optimistic side even 1-2 thousand is actually kind of high. I saw a post about Polkadot the other day which had like 5 transactions in a day. Other chains also have these problems

What happened in 2021 that made it shoot up like that?
I believe the activity is mainly attributed to Splinterlands making thousands of bots at that time. But no doubt many people also joined the network.

Ha, I had the same observation yesterday aswell first time hit 100% voting mana in a long time.
Was a bit inactive in my own posts, not going anywhere though, today even marked my 3 year hive anniversity. My inactivity just comes from 2 falls (bike & falling down stairs) that forced me to ease the running a bit. Should be back active later this week!

I would adjust it by raising the vote power or increasing your fan base in case you use hive.vote since sitting at 100% isn't ideal
