[ESP-ENG] Social Media Challenge! – The great utility of Spellmonger

Realmente estoy comprometido a mejorar mi juego en Splinterlands este año, tanto asi que tengo bastantes días seguidos haciendo el reto diario de 15 victorias en el formato frontera.
Obviamente se me hace necesario aprender cuales son las cartas counters de cada elemento y cuales principalmente neutrales sirven para defenderse entre sí, aprendí más que todo el uso de “Spellmonger” que al principio pensé que era algo inútil ya que no se le podía agregar algún ataque con el “Weapons Trained” sin embargo entendí que será bastante fuerte si se pudiera.
En este post desglosaremos un poco más esta carta y veremos a quien contrarresta más que todo, según lo que entendí jugando.

I am really committed to improving my game in Splinterlands this year, so much so that I have been doing the daily challenge of 15 wins in the frontier format for several days in a row.
Obviously, I need to learn which cards counter each element and which neutral cards are mainly used to defend against each other. I learned more about the use of “Spellmonger,” which at first I thought was useless since you couldn't add any attacks with “Weapons Trained,” but I understood that it would be quite strong if you could.
In this post, we'll break down this card a little more and see who it counters the most, based on what I understood while playing.

Ya que cuenta en nivel 1 solo con 1 de vida, 1 de escudo y no posee ataque.
Al principio la utilizaba poco ya que no la veía tan útil, pero fue justamente cuando me la utilizaban en contra cuando aprendí su función y su mayor utilidad dentro de las batallas, y realmente me parece bastante buena.
Spellmonger is a rare, neutral card with the Thorns ability, and it cannot be given attack with Weapons Trained, which I found strange when I first encountered it. Since it is a level 1 card, it only has 1 life, 1 shield, and no attack.
At first, I didn't use it much because I didn't see it as very useful, but it was precisely when it was used against me that I learned its function and its greatest usefulness in battle, and I really think it's quite good.

Si bien el cambio de mana con respecto a las que estas dejando sin utilidad no es tan bueno con respecto a las primeras 2, ya que una cuesta 4 y la otra 5, es justamente contra la última que es bastante más beneficiosa utilizarla.
In the border format, only three cards have the opportunity ability with melee attack. In theory, this will be Spellmonger's role: to try to draw the attention of these cards to reduce their life and prevent them from damaging the other attacking monsters in your lineup.
Although the mana exchange for the cards you are leaving unused is not as good as for the first two, since one costs 4 and the other 5, it is precisely against the latter that it is much more beneficial to use it.
Capture de pantalla propio / Own screenshotVengeful Monk es según mi criterio una de las mejores cartas para utilizar en este formato, muy buena para apoyar a los tanques ya que se deshace de las cartas de apoyo más potentes de manera rápida y cuenta con 4 puntos de vida que lo hace absorber algunos ataques igualmente.
Sin embargo, es justamente Spellmonger su principal criptonita, ya que con tan solo 4 de mana lo eliminaría por completo ya que debido a su escudo gracias a las espinas le estaría quitando la totalidad de la vida en los 2 ataques que le realiza.
Uno de ellos dando en el escudo y las espinas le regresa 2 de daño y el siguiente en el daño para quitarle los otros 2 de vida que le restarían haciendo un cambio de 4 por 7 de mana en esas 2 cartas, dando una ventaja muy buena.
Quedaría justamente en predecir que el rival va a utilizar esta carta y tratar de agarrar esa ventaja para inclinar la balanza a nuestro favor en la batalla y estaría casi ganada.
Les mostrare 2 ejemplos de batallas donde utilice esa estrategia y también me la utilizaron a mi y ambas salieron excelentemente bien tanto en la victoria como en la derrota aprendí un poco:
In my opinion, Vengeful Monk is one of the best cards to use in this format. It's very good for supporting tanks, as it quickly gets rid of the most powerful support cards and has 4 health points, which allows it to absorb some attacks as well.
However, Spellmonger is its main kryptonite, as with only 4 mana it would eliminate it completely, since due to its shield thanks to the thorns, it would take away all of its health in the 2 attacks it makes.
One of them hits the shield and the thorns return 2 damage, and the next one removes the other 2 health points, making a change of 4 for 7 mana in those 2 cards, giving a very good advantage.
It would be a matter of predicting that the opponent will use this card and trying to seize that advantage to tip the balance in our favor in the battle, which would be almost won.
I will show you two examples of battles where I used that strategy and where it was also used against me, and both turned out extremely well. Both in victory and in defeat, I learned a little:

Comentarios Finales:
Sigo aprendiendo y comprometido con llevar mi cuenta hasta Plata, ya conseguí jugar y mantenerme en bronce I a pesar de solo utilizar por ahora cartas nivel 1, pero ya casi tengo coleccionado los suficientes para subir mis invocadores de nivel y poder utilizar mayores niveles.
Mientras tanto sigo aprendiendo de lo que me muestran los rivales, mi principal objetivo por ahora es hacer los retos diarios y conseguir subir de nivel mis cartas, cosas como la de este post son cositas que me ayudan a ser mejor jugador, y debo mantener el ritmo. ¡Animo!
Final Comments:
I'm still learning and committed to getting my account up to Silver. I've managed to play and stay in Bronze I despite only using level 1 cards for now, but I've almost collected enough to level up my summoners and be able to use higher levels.
In the meantime, I continue to learn from what my opponents show me. My main goal for now is to complete the daily challenges and level up my cards. Things like this post are little things that help me become a better player, and I must keep up the pace. Cheer up!
