Semesta Buku and Literacy Community Event

Having friends in a community for a long time has been very enjoyable for me. I'm an ambivert whose moods are very unpredictable. There are times when I don't leave the house for long periods (my record is six months), and there are times when I really want to hang out with my friends.

The advantage of having friends in a community is that they're almost always there for me. Because there are so many of them, if some people can't make it, others will always be able to. And since people tend to be busy with individual activities these days, that's completely understandable.

By the way, coincidentally, last week, my friend Adang Albanie told me that there was a book festival at Mall X, and he and his wife were invited to give a talk show at the opening. I was very happy to accept the invitation.

SEMESTA BOOK BY GRAMEDIA

Gramedia is the largest and most famous publisher of all time. And it has many book festival programs, including Semesta Buku, held at Teras Kota Mall, Banten.

It's actually not that far from my house. Only about 11 kilometers. However, the weather in our area has been really bad lately. The air is very humid and the sun is very hot. As a result, I decided to take the train. I'll continue the three kilometers from the station using an online motorcycle taxi service.

Upon arrival, I went straight to the event venue, which was on the first floor of the mall. Since the event hadn't started yet, my friend Ulumi and I first walked around to check out the books on sale. There were many discounts, ranging from 30-50% off, and some were even on sale at a certain price.

The event began with a dance performance by a dance studio. Two women skilled in traditional dance moves. Afterward, the MC invited two speakers to give a talk show: Devina and Adang Albanie, the managers of Taman Baca Peka

The discussion naturally revolved around an introduction to the Reading Park, an explanation of the various activities, the community's vision and mission, and a lively Q&A session with the audience.

Conversations about books, literacy activities, and especially anything related to children are always very engaging.

After about an hour, the discussion finally concluded, and the MC closed the afternoon. Because it was such a fun moment, my friends and I took lots of photos. I realized that for adults, time is increasingly busy and precious. It was also about gatherings with friends like this.

After finishing, I went straight home. My heart was very happy today. Everything was fun. My heart went home full. I thanked them, the people I love around me. I hope they always stay healthy.

That concludes today's notes on Semesta Buku. See you next time.
