Race Journal: 5km For Bintaro Education Run

This week I didn't write about my October running journal, but I wanted to write about the glimpse of Bintaro Jaya Run which was my first 5km race. If we look back for a minute, my first race was actually at the 10km distance at the Women's Day Run event last April. Then the next month, May, I participated in the Bintaro Run anniversary event. Please forgive me if this journal is so far back, I want to record it here, as well as for memory storage.
Actually, Bintaro Run has two categories: 1km and 5km, but, at that time I wanted to try the 5km, so this was my first 5km race. I remember that I was horrified because the elevation was a bit higher than the track in Jakarta, but when I did it, it wasn't that bad. I really liked the sterile track. Bintaro is famous for being sterile for races like this.
I crossed the starting line at 6.07am, and since I took a decent start at the front, I was triggered to run at a fast pace of 5:37. But it only lasted one kilometer, because the next kilometer, I was stable at pace 6 and pace 7.
I did this race not alone, but with Rani. Of course we were separated, because we promised to meet at the finish. I ended up finishing in 37:48 with an average pace of 6:38. You know, this is my personal best for the 5km class. Even though it looks weak, I cherish every progress no matter how small it is. I'm still grateful. After finishing and taking refreshment, I waited for Rani who still hadn't finished, I waited at the park available there. After some time, we met up.
What's interesting about this race is that the proceeds from this race are donated to education, that's why the vision and mission of Bintar Jaya Run is run for education. Wow ... I feel happy to be able to contribute to good things like this, even though the value is only a little. But, whatever it is, if it's for the sake of education, it's very good, right?
That's my race journal for the Bintaro Jaya Run. I hope I get well soon, I already miss running and breathing the lake air as usual. So, see you next journal, keep moving and happy always, everyone! Thank you...!
