OUR BEAUTIFUL SUMMER
Lately, finding a mini drama with an interesting story is like finding a gem my teen. And this time it's a two-episode mini drama from Korea called OUR BEAUTIFUL SUMMER.
Choi Yeo Reum (Jang Gyu Ri) is a new person who moved in next door to the apartment owned by the Na family who has quadruplets named Na A reum (Yoo Yung jae), Na Da Eun (Son Sang Yeon), Na Woo Ri (Kim Min Ki), and their youngest twin who is a girl named Na Ra (Kim So Hye). Yeo Reum since her arrival has made the three young twins curious because she looks cold and does not want to be approached. They turned out to be attending the same school so their days would continue to be concerned.
Although still in high school, Yeo Reum lives alone because she does not want to live under the same roof with her mother who has remarried. Meanwhile, the three young men really have very different characters. A Reum who is the smartest and wisest, Da Eun who is a typical middle child, and Woo Ri who in the past year chose to stop talking to everyone as a form of punishment against himself after their twin sister, Nara died by suicide.
No one can ever know what kind of hell people who have lost loved ones must go through. The three of them continue to be overwhelmed with guilt. In addition, Yeo Reum and her estranged life also feel the need for a family to replace the emptiness in her heart regarding the figure of ‘family.
These dynamics eventually build a touching story from the two parts that ends very sweet and warm. How two groups of people who were separated met and filled the void after loss. How they managed to heal each other's wounds.
- Choi Yeo Reum (Jang Gyu Ri)
From the very beginning of Choi Yeo Reum's appearance, pentnon will know that besides being mysterious, we will see her as a more or less problematic figure, until we know the whole story and conclude that here, Choi Yeo Reum is very strong. She's a person who bears a lot of burdens alone despite being young. The type of broken home child.
- Na A Reum (Yoo Young Jae)
The type of face and characteristics that would be the first love interest: smart, handsome, wise, and kind. But who knows that he also secretly smokes to relieve stress from the trauma of losing his twin sister. A Reum, both at school and at home is the type of boy who can be relied on.
- Na Da Eun (Song Sang Yeon)
Na Da Eun is the type of middle child who is often ignored. From the beginning of the episode, I also only paid attention to Yeo Reum, Woo, Ri and A Reum. Da Eun's figure seems to be made somewhat invisible, but who is the one who is very angry with Woo Ri's treatment of ignoring the world after Nara's departure. Da Eun is the owner of pathetic pent-up emotions.
- Na Woo Ri (Kim Min Ki)
Why Woo Ri got the best spotlight. YES, because he chose to be mute. He's not mute, he just stopped talking because of his guilt. Luckily he was the one who saved Yeo Reum's shop when she wanted to commit suicide too. Yeo Reum reminded Woo Ri of her sister, and this was the beginning of the turning point of the bleak situation.
An emotional and meaningful mini drama. There is the love of friends, the love of family, and the love of life that is often neglected. The way these teenagers come to terms with their painful circumstances really touched my heart. I feel lucky to have found this two-episode drama. If you need a light watch to enjoy with your family, pretty sure, Our BEautiful Summer is highly recommended!
