Botanical Garden Baturraden

This usually happens when traveling to a new city without any recommendations, and usually because the city is quite small.

Like what happened to me when I visited Purwokerto some time ago. I was alone with my friend, and when it came to recommendations, we were just random. Finally, we arrived at the Baturraden Botanical Gardens.

From the city center where we were staying, we took public transportation to the nearest point. The rest of the way, we booked a car online to get to our destination. We went through the ticket gate and paid 25,000 Rupiah per person. Once we were in the car, the driver asked us why we wanted to visit the unkempt and rarely visited Botanical Gardens.

At first, I wasn't suspicious about our destination. What kind of unkempt government-owned place could this be? But after arriving at the Botanical Gardens gate, I finally understood what our driver had said. It turned out the Botanical Gardens really did look neglected. Indeed, the stairs leading up were still clear of weeds and the path was still open. It would still be incredibly scary until it became covered in moss.

We, arriving after the rain, were a bit cautious as our steps were slippery. Where did the local government's budget come from to neglect such a valuable asset? I imagined this flat garden would be as beautiful and comfortable as the one in Bogor, but oh well. At least I could still enjoy the clean air here.

There were many varieties of ancient trees still under the ministry's supervision. And I could see a variety of flowers I don't usually see in cities. If you're curious about what these flowers are, you can search for them yourself on your browser. Unfortunately, there were no signs or descriptions for each variety. Curious as I was, having to search for each one, I felt a bit reluctant.

This Botanical Garden apparently covers tens of hectares, so it's divided up, and I didn't walk any further, as fog seemed to be descending. I had to hurry back to the point where I could book a car online at the front counter.

So, from here, I had to walk about two kilometers more. LOL. I also got some exercise and a lung cleanse in a place this clean. Although a bit disappointed, I wasn't disappointed with what nature had to offer: the air, the trees.

My friend and I took selfies in the middle of the road because there were still few vehicles passing by. We joked and laughed. Although a little tired from walking so much, it was very good for our bones.

But, you're satisfied with my pictures, even though they aren't many, right? I hope you enjoy my pictures and stories. I love nature, so I don't judge them. I just hope the government pays more attention to this place to make it neater and more beautiful.
