Baitussalam Grand Mosque

Because I travel quite frequently, I often visit mosques, besides restaurants and tourist attractions. This mosque is located in Purwokerto's town square. It's located west of the town square. Although the mosque looks quite old, the building is quite large, sturdy, and well-maintained.

BAITUSSALAM GRAND MOSQUE

I went to this mosque to perform the midday prayer. From the front, the facade is simple. It's just an arched roof and a brick terrace floor. There are small steps that serve as a sacred boundary.

The ablution area is divided into two sides. The right side is for female worshippers and the left side for male worshippers. So, my friend and I headed to the right side and walked to the back to the ablution area. From the side, the roof design is the same, full ceiling with an arched design. Even the doors are designed in the same way.

As we approach the ablution area, as usual, it's dominated by white ceramic tiles, the color of which has begun to fade in places. Some sections feature seating, while others feature regular faucets.

Entering the prayer area, a green carpet stretches across the spacious room. The cylindrical support pillars are painted predominantly brown and dark brown. The main room features a brightly colored ceiling with intricate carvings.

The central ceiling, or dome, looks even more luxurious. Calligraphy encircles it, and beautiful batik patterns adorn the inner part of the circle. A chandelier hangs beautifully from the center of the Baitussalam Mosque's roof.
It's very cool here, even though there's no air conditioning. The prayer robes (mukenas) are neatly hung.

After performing the four rakaan (noon prayers), I prepare to head home.

Thank you for reading my writing.

There was one time while waiting for our flight going home I saw male worshippers in a corner of the airport, I'm not sure if there's a prayer room but I felt astonished when I saw them, I admire the faithfulness thanks for sharing Sis.
