Alas Pitu Spot Attraction, Purwokerto

The last city I visited on this trip was Purwokerto. This small, cozy city in Central Java is actually recommended for family trips. It has many child- and family-friendly attractions, one of which I visited that day was Alas Pitu.

"Alas" means forest, and "pitu" means seven in Indonesian. So, literally, it's seven forests. But I don't know why it's named that way. Perhaps the creators just wanted to name it that way? It's not really a good interpretation of ALAS PITU.
From the main gate, you can immediately see the large "ALAS PITU" sign, with its gloomy decorations and giant ants above it. Heading to the ticketing lobby, the atmosphere was also gloomy, like the charm of a zoo.
After that, I immediately bought two tickets because I came with my friend.
The first thing visitors encounter after the lobby is a kind of mini zoo. Or very mini, as there are only ostriches, various pigeons, and rabbits. As I said above, this is perfect for family outings.

After that, there's a neatly arranged bamboo structure with the words "ALAS PITU" written on it. This area was deliberately created as a selfie spot for visitors.

After that, there's a park called Labubu (as in the caption). Here, there's only a row of canteens selling food to visitors. There are also a few vendors already standing by.

After leaving the Labubu area, we continued our walk to the swimming pool area. Before reaching the pool, we saw a pool with what looks like an artificial waterfall. The water was crystal clear and pleasant. The weather was rather gloomy that day when I visited.

After this mini artificial waterfall, right next to it is a large, clean swimming pool. I started to think of my pool-loving nephew when I saw this. I couldn't stay long here because it looked like it was really going to rain.
This area also had restrooms and a nice, comfortable changing area.

So I moved on to the next area, which was higher up. There were also hot air balloons for photo opportunities. There was a trend in our country back then, thanks to a TV series that made the name Capadoccia very popular. Then, many tourist attractions offered hot air balloon photo opportunities to emulate the iconic Turkish landmark, Capadoccia.

What do you think? Do you share my opinion about bringing the family with you when you visit a place like this?
That concludes my trip to Alas Pitu. Please stay tuned for my next post. Thank you.

Hi, I am the child of the universe, I like to read books with various genres. I was born in the city of batik but can't draw batik yet. I want to be a novelist, but my works are only short poems that are included in anthology books.
