#2026running: in the middle of rainy days

As we get older, the thing that often becomes our main concern is our health. This includes our muscle mass and quality of life. I am no exception. This year, I turned 35. I once read a health journal that mentioned that as we approach the age of 40, our muscle mass will decrease, so what we need to do is exercise regularly.

In addition to exercising at home with dumbbells, another thing I do is run. This year, I have been running for almost two years. At first, I was just curious as to why people liked running so much, but once I started running regularly, I realised that running had become a part of my life and a necessity. My body doesn't get sick as easily and I feel more comfortable. It also adds another positive activity to my days, which I still spend alone.

I want to write about my running activities on 15 and 21 January. You might wonder why there is such a long gap between my running schedules. That's because this month, in our country, especially in big cities like Jakarta and its surroundings, there was heavy rain for a whole week. So, I had to give in to the weather and stop running for a while.

On 15 January 2026, I only ran 3 kilometres, which took me 23:17 minutes at an average pace of 7:32/km. The weather was really unfriendly, and it started pouring as soon as I started running.



Then, on 21 January 2026, a similar incident occurred. It rained heavily after I ran 3 kilometres. Usually, I would run a minimum distance of 5 kilometres. However, due to the unfavourable situation, I had to give in. The important thing for me is that I keep moving and burn some calories in my body.



That’s how my running activities will be documented in my #2026running journal. I hope I can continue to run consistently with enthusiasm and stay healthy amidst this highly unstable weather. Thank you for reading my running journal. See you in the next post.

Wow, you love running! Meanwhile, me, I prefer walking long distance.
By the way, I'm older than you, turning 40 this year. Maybe I need to start increasing my interest when it comes to exercise or workout. 😂
