My arm - I just wanted to heal, not get electrocuted
Alright, let's talk about my arm. I really want to say she’s not a diva anymore, but nope—last week she still acted like one! She doesn’t listen to me. I swear she just doesn’t want to work. Like, girl, I’m losing my mind at home! It’s time to go back to work!
So, how’s it going?
Last week, therapy started. You already know what kind of fun torture—I mean, therapy—was waiting for me.
I walked into the doctor’s office, they sent me to a room, and the first thing on the menu was… ELECTROSTIMULATION! You saw in my last photo what they strapped to my arm. Let me tell you, I really thought this would be sooooo nice. HA! WRONG!
The first shock hit, and I almost launched out of my chair. Not just my arm—I WAS IN SHOCK TOO. 😳 The nurse just laughed and said, “Oh, sorry, I forgot to tell you that you need to say if it's too much.” YES, MISS NURSE, IT IS TOO MUCH! This torture device is supposed to stay on for 10 minutes, but after just 3 minutes, I gave up and asked them to lower the level. I think I had tears in my eyes, but you know me...I always gotta try the highest level first.
After that? Ultrasound therapy. And ohhh, finally, something GOOD! My arm was still hurting from those evil electroshocks, but this? This was heaven. I melted in the chair, enjoying every second… until I realized it only lasted five minutes. WHY ONLY FIVE MINUTES? 😭
By Friday, the nurse asked if my arm felt better. NOPE, ACTUALLY WORSE. She told me to go see the doctor. But not my usual one. Nope, I went to another one because I knew he’d actually listen to me. And guess what? He did!
He looked at my diagnosis and went, “Why did they start with therapy instead of giving you a cortisone shot first?” And I was like, “Dude, I ASKED for an injection first, but my old doctor said no!” And he just nodded like, “Ah, I see who made that decision.” 🤦♀️
So, this legend of a doctor gave me the shot and told me, “In a few days, you won’t feel anything, and then it’ll get better.” Finally, someone who gets it! I started physiotherapy on Monday.
The therapist stretched my arm, showed me exercises, and told me to come back Thursday to see if it improved. And guess what? IT DID!
By Thursday, I could lift heavier things, and the pain was almost gone. The best part? I could finally sleep on my right side without wanting to cry. Oh, what a relief! I HATE sleeping on my back. Hate it.
I kept doing the exercises, and today, I told the therapist, “I feel so much better! Almost no pain!” The only issue? My arm was exhausted because, well, I hadn’t used it for over a month. The soreness was from working it again, not the injury.
He said that’s normal and told me to keep doing the exercises for two weeks. And then? THAT’S IT!
So, ladies and gentlemen, I can finally say...THIS NIGHTMARE IS OVER! 🎉
I can work, I can clean, I can cook (okay, not loving this part… I kinda enjoyed being spoiled while he cooked for me, but now I have no excuse 😭). But the most important thing? I CAN DO THINGS WITHOUT SCREAMING IN PAIN! JEEEEJ!
Of course, I still need to take it easy, but I can finally get back to my life. I thought I’d return to work on Monday, but my boss said, “Take off until Wednesday to be sure you’re okay.” I mean, not gonna argue with that!
AND THE BEST PART?? I CAN FINALLY DO MY EYEBROWS!!
Goodbye, Chewbacca brows! 😂
