Disappointment made me a better person.

Good day everyone, thank you for stopping by my blog today. This is my first time posting in this community, hope I'm welcome 🤗.

Everyone has those moments that changed their perspectives about life like never before, what was your biggest "I must make it in life" and has that affected you.

This is the story of my family as a whole. And my life journey too. So many years ago, when I was a child, my father, the second son of his father, was a jovial person. He loved family so much that every Sunday, he invites the extended family to come dine with us, his immediate family.

Daddy was a man of the people; he loved everyone genuinely, not knowing that not everyone who smiles with you is actually your friend or loves you. My daddy was this kind of person that made everyone around him important; there was no big, small, rich, or poor; everyone around him was important.

Nobody ever came to my daddy with problems and went back the same. until something tragic happened. As they say, your enemy can't kill you, only your close friend or family can. And that was the exact thing that happened to my dad.One fateful day, Dad's niece, my cousin, came to the house and told Dad that she was sick. 😷 Dad took her to go see his elder brother, who was a doctor, in another city for proper medical care.

But Dad never came back until some months later.Now let me explain to you what happened to Dad. In my own country (Nigeria), there is something we call witchcraft. Oh yes, it exists. Dad's elder brother, the doctor is a wizard. Yes, I said that. He never liked Dad because, my grandfather, Daddy, was his favorite son, and my uncle, Dad's brother, has been envious of him from day one. Oh, I forgot to tell you that Dad was the first person in the family to get married. When Dad brought Mom to show family as his wife-to-be, Dad's brother wanted her.

Hmm, funny, right? I know. Story for another day.So Dad never returned from his trip; we were kids then; we didn't know anything at the time.A few months later, Dad's brother brought Dad's lifeless body to the house. Hmm. 😥 The only thing he said was that Dad had been sick and didn't want us to know. You wanted to ask about Mom all the while, right? Well, Mom has been going to Dad's brother's house, but they never let her see her husband. And that was how Dad died in 2002. 😥.

Things started changing; people I looked out for as family now turned their back on us. People that I know that Dad helped rejected us. Mom took care of us single-handedly with no help from anybody from Dad's family. Until she gave up her ghost in 2008. And we, because orphans 🥹, from that day on, changed my perspective about people who smile round with me. Not everyone that smiles with you likes you. And I promise myself that I most make it in life. I'm not rich yet but I don't really lack. And I will keep pushing until my good is better and my better best.💪

Thank God for his mercy 🙏 upon my life and my siblings. All praises, honor, and adoration to God for bringing us this far. Thank you for reading the story of my life.
