Wednesday Walk - I'm on the road despite the winter season.

I'm happy to share another Wednesday Walk post. Being here regularly and posting makes me feel good. Seeing and showing the evidence of what I'm doing in photos also gives me mental confirmation of my actions.

This week, for a change, I went to a place I hadn't been to in a long time. Frankly, you need a reason to go there. The roads are steep and inclined. Climbing the hills requires considerable effort. Walking there is especially challenging in winter, both for walking and for standing. Cars are practically forbidden from passing through in winter. The incline is so great that not only can cars not pass through, but they also suffer damage while climbing.

Bu hafta bir farklılık olsun diye uzun zamandır gitmediğim bir yere doğru gittim. Doğrusu o bölgeye gitmek için bir nedene sahip olmak lazım. Yollar eğimli ve oldukça dik. Yokuşu tırmanabilmek için bayağı efor sarf etmek gerekiyor. Özellikle kış mevsiminde o bölgede yürümek oldukça zorlayıcıdır. Hem yürümek hem de ayakta durabilmek için. Arabaların kış mevsiminde oradan geçmesi fiilen yasak. Eğim o kadar fazla ki hem araba o yollardan geçemez hem de araba o yolları tırmanırken hasar yaşar.

To be honest, I didn't take many photos of that area. Most of the photos are of the paths I walked to get there.

Snow accumulation still remains in the side streets. While snowplows regularly clear the snow, snow falling from roofs continues to cover the roads. This poses a major problem for vehicles trying to pass through, making U-turns tiring and difficult.

Ara sokaklarda kar birikintisi hala duruyor. İş makineleri düzenli şekilde karları temizliyor ancak çatılardan inen karlar yolları kaplıyor. Oradan geçmek isteyen araçlar için büyük sorun. Geri dönmeleri de yorucu ve zorlayıcı.

It was a sunny day, quite ideal for a walk. As I mentioned before, I don't get to walk outside enough during the winter. The conditions are quite challenging. I compensate for this with exercises I do at home. I've set myself a new goal: to be able to do 100 push-ups in one go. It's a challenging goal for me because I haven't done push-ups in a long time. I plan to reach this goal within two months. I've been trying for 10 days and currently I can do 40 push-ups in one go. I'm doing a little more each day than the day before. I'm putting in a great effort to keep going without giving up.

Güneşli bir gün ve yürüyüş için oldukça ideal bir gündü. Daha önce de bahsettiğim gibi kış mevsiminde dışarıda yeterince yürüyemiyorum. Şartlar oldukça zorlu. Bunu evde yaptığım egzersizlerle telafi ediyorum. Kendime yeni bir hedef koydum. Tek seferde 100 adet şınav çekebilmek. Uzun zamandır şınav çekmediğim için benim için zorlayıcı hedef. İki ay içerisinde bu hedefime ulaşmayı düşünüyorum. 10 gündür deniyorum ve şu an tek seferde 40 tane şınav çekebiliyorum. Her gün bir öncekine göre biraz daha fazlasını yapıyorum. Pes etmeden ilerlemek için büyük çaba harcıyorum.
