This might be the end
what do the stockpiles of a country heading for imminent economic collapse look like?
whenever I talk about my country of birth or any other Latin American country, there is no absence of compliments either because the services are absurdly cheap and almost nonexistent for someone who tends to pay $200 or more monthly in bills alone.
The truth is that yes, I can understand all this and in fact other countries whose value is the dollar are currently going through an economic recession that more than one person is panicking. but when I tell you that what happens in other places are small compared to what is happening here, your economic situation will not seem so pitiful.
with an inflation rate that has reached over 1k in the worst agonizing moment of the country... where there was money but no food to buy, due to a bunch of absurd sanctions that were slowly killing people...
I could say that nowadays the situation... the new crisis is being totally different... Now all the shelves are full, full of abundant food, all kinds of cheeses, and luxurious clothes and restaurants... :D but the average citizen of a stupidly non-existent middle class due to the erratic socialism, has no money to take this food home...
nowadays the middle class has been eradicated from the country...
and if you believe and call yourself middle class and genuinely think you are... I invite you to look at your fridge and name me at least 5 fruits, or better yet :D how much protein you have in it.
even simpler yet.... what model of car do you have? anything from 2005 to here honestly leaves you across the pond.
currently in this place ... anyone with a car in good condition is considered upper class while the rest... not...
very few people have this option.
And I can only end this conversation with :
what the heck is paper for? everyone talks about cryptos having no real value but what about paper?
can you go to a bank and ask for the equivalent in gold?, and if yes, what are you going to do with the gold, can YOU build something with it?
if the answer is no then you can only send it and trade it with certain people who use it.
Is it normal to pay meaningless amounts of paper for absolutely everything?
are we so bad that we can't live together and support each other?
the human race... it's disgusting, I would never be surprised if another species simply wanted to annihilate us... there are so many things out of control that shouldn't be out of control.
Honestly, every year that goes by I find it more difficult to see where I will be and if I will fulfill any of my dreams, which should not represent a luxury...
If you can travel ... be thankful for it
If you have $20 to spare at the end of the month ... be thankful for it
If you can walk around without being harassed or robbed... be thankful for it
If you can buy a car after saving ... be thankful for it.
If you have a house... be thankful for it
If you can eat chicken or beef... be thankful for it
If you can simply enjoy your life... be thankful for that.
because there will always be someone on the other side of the well...
This is the reality in my country too - Nigeria. Its far worse. The rate of inflation, economic hardship, unemployment and many other social problems is scary. The government is not interested in human suffering here. Most just get by. So thankful to the crypto opportunity which has given a lot of hope to the youths. Otherwise, nothing works here.
damn man :C i feel you, i had read about your country and yeah your govt sucks too...
human rights are not a thing now ... and i just cant belive it.
Its really terrible. Even the most basic amenities you take for granted like electricity and good roads is not guaranteed here. Its beyond pathetic, a country blessed with aboundant human and natural resources.

Meanwhile, here in the USA — supposed the "richest" country on the planet — now more than 55% of all households are now what's known as financially "at risk," meaning that during any given month they must choose between food or some basic service (water, phone, electricity, etc.); they can't have both.
We are supposedly "well off" and we're grateful that our 1997 Nissan is in decent running order. We don't really go anywhere because fuel is expensive.
The government tells us that inflation is 10% but just a year ago (for example) whole chicken was about $2.25/kg and today it is about $4.10/kg. Protein is becoming more and more of a luxury. Still, grateful we have several large sacks of both rice and beans stored away... and we grow a lot of our own vegetables and fruit.
=^..^=
oh man :( yeah i heard about this, and read about this too, i just rlly hope that living JUST LIVING wasnt a luxury :(
nah the govt is lying... 10% makes no sense for the prices of all that is going up... they think ppl are dumb :/
i rlly hope we all get a better life
Being on hive and talking to people like yourself and others, I’ve come to appreciate my situation a lot more. It’s not easy that’s for sure but it’s far and above what it is in many countries in the world. I try to get the people around me to see this and they can’t unfortunately but I feel your pain. I’m glad you’re on hive here and we can give you a little bit of support to make it a bit more possible for you to survive financially. I think we will get past this craziness!
