Famous or Not? Weekend Engagement Topic (WEEK 152)

(Edited)

I’ve been thinking about this topic and I keep asking myself, why would someone wouldn’t want to be famous? What’s the worst that can happen?

This is me

Before I continue, I would like you to understand that being famous in Ghana is nothing compared to being famous in America or places like America.

There’s no single paparazzi on any street in Ghana, random people do not carry registered guns everywhere waiting for any slight chance to pull a trigger and make news headlines, and no one has time to kidnap anyone for ransom.

After thinking through all possible scenarios and possibilities, the worst thing that could happen to a celebrity or any famous person in Ghana is being mobbed on the streets by fans.

Trust me, with plenty of money or not, fame is something you would wholesomely enjoy in Ghana. You could just wake up a day and decide to make people happy by visiting random places where people would least expect you to be.

For instance, if I ever saw Rihana at my local grocery store (with or without bodyguards), I would freak out at first, I would gather courage afterwards and walk up to her, give her a very tight hug, and after her bodyguards have successfully separated me away from her, I would shout to her how much I love her and how much her music and personality inspire me. I would ask her to marry me immediately. It would not be anything lesser than genuine immense laughter, tears, and goosebumps.

Believe me, that’ll probably be the reaction of every Ghanaian fan when they randomly spot Rihana anywhere in Ghana. No bad vibes, all positive energy.

This is the reason why I would not give a second thought about being a popular person in Ghana. Basically, my reason is why not?

I don’t really know much about myself but one thing I’m very sure that I crave a lot is attention. Even though I don’t get that much of the time, I enjoy being the Dubai of all parties. I love being the center of attention. Even when a random friend of a friend, especially a girl recognizes or notices me at a place where I least expected, I feel happy about that, perhaps creepy but yeah!

me again

So in conclusion, I don’t mind being a Ghanaian Drake or Micheal B Jordan by tomorrow. I don’t mind taking pictures with random beautiful girls on the streets and having them choose me over their boyfriends, and most importantly I don’t mind affording everything I desire.

Even if I have to trade being famous for my privacy, I would not hesitate, after all, I could always go to Dubai for some peace of mind.

And propose to her before She can’t hear me anymore. It would not be anything lesser than genuine immense laughter, tears, and goosebumps.

Same😂😂😂😂, she was one of the biggest parts of my childhood. In my case, I don't want to be famous. I only want to earn decently and be contented with what I have. I don't want someone to ruin my privacy. Thank you, God, as I never dreamed of being a celebrity or an artist. In Philippines, if you want to stay relevant, you need to create an issue if you want to keep your popularity. I hate those dramas, so I guess that being famous is not in my dictionary.

My dear, Riri is the girl 😘

I understand that being famous can be very stressful and could cost you a lot, especially if you’re not a kind of ‘notice me’ person.

Being famous can also mean a very different thing depending on where you’re.

But in all, there’s nothing wrong with choosing a ‘low key’ lifestyle, you’ll have your privacy and peace of mind all to yourself.

Anyway I appreciate your time, thanks for sharing your opinion 👍🏿

Haha, Ghana seems like a pretty place with lot's of fun and cool people. If that's how it is then it's not bad at all right. You happy, everybody happy 🎉

Trust me that’s exactly how Ghana is. Good vibes everywhere 😎

Most of the time when I see how celebrities are treated in the big cities, I don’t just know how to relate to that, complete opposite to what I see here.

In Ghana here there are only two kinds of famous people here. Either you're a politician or you're into entertainment. Other than that, there are other people doing very great in their domains but they're not being hailed as they should have

I sincerely thought I had replied this🤦🏿‍♂️

Bro as for the politics fame, me I don’t want that one oo. The entertainment fame seems more fun and enjoyable 😁

Ghanaians are truly different. Seeing you attack the celebrity life from this angle makes me think of becoming a celebrity too.😅

No one really has time for anyone here. It’ll be all good vibes.

Hmm...very interesting, actually I would like to be famous too but I don't think I have the stomach for that as to been famous will attracts both wanted and unwanted beings and I think it is stressful to be famous🤷‍♀️ I hate stress.

It’s true that fame can be accompanied by some sort of unwanted attention which may lead to stress and anxiety.

If you would to be famous then you must be able to deal with these unavoidable issues at all times.

If not, then I think it’ll much easier to just live a low key lifestyle and have all your privacy to yourself

Hey there!

Your post made me smile.
I admire you for wanting to be the centre of attention 😅. For me, I cannot think of anything worst.

I was once mobbed at a nightclub in the Netherlands because the crowd thought that I was famous. I was so scared. I'm claustrophobic and have a great fear of being in a stampede, so I was about to run as fast as my high heels would have allowed me to, and then the Bouncer explained to me what was happening.🙃

My advice is:
"Keep dreaming, just always remember in your quest, that it's better to be famous than infamous."

For instance, if I ever saw Rihana at my local grocery store (with or without bodyguards), I would freak out at first, I would gather courage afterwards and walk up to her, give her a very tight hug after her guards have successfully separated me away from her, I would shout to her how much I love her

Hmm, are you sure? Your profile says:

👇

Rihana’s ex-boyfriend

😂
