Ecency- My Favorite dApp

Fellow Ghanaians, we have started yet another week. Good morning to all of you. I hope you are all having a good day.

I would like to commend the leaders of the Hive Ghana community for this thoughtful contest. Apart from learning about the several dApps front ends of Hive, this contest also allows participants to express their views on the technical aspects of the dApps, my favorite part.

Before I discovered Ecency through @abdul01, I was using Hive.io to do all my Hive activities. Hive.io helped me a lot as a newcomer. The user interface is pretty simple and easy to navigate and interact, logging in with hive.io is not a big deal as well.

Until I discovered Ecency, I was okay with hive.io. Not because my experience with it was excellent but basically because I didn’t know of any better alternatives to using Hive.

After discovering the several front-end dApps of the Hive blockchain, I’ve come to realize and appreciate the significance it provides to the users. It allows users to choose which customized front end is best suitable for their mode of usage and type of content.

My favorite thing about the Ecency dApp is the rewards you get from using the app. Just by doing usual activities such as logging in, sharing a post, and commenting, you gain rewards in the form of Ecency points which you can use to promote and boost your posts or someone else’s posts.

Another unique feature of the Ecency front end is that, unlike hive.io where you have to login through a web browser, with Ecency, you can log in directly from the app with your username and password.

I must admit that I’m not familiar with many of the dApps of Hive. I’ve been using Ecency all this while and I haven’t really had time to research the other dApps. Ecency is dope but it’s definitely not an excellent front end. I’m looking forward to reading more about the other dApps and hopefully, I will find another interesting alternative because at times Ecency sucks!

The most annoying thing about using Ecency is the random quenching of the app for no particular reason. It slows down my activities very often which is very frustrating and irritating. I hope whoever is responsible for that fixes this annoying issue as soon as possible.
