The innovations we have today

In this modern age we are in, there are a lot of innovations we've seen that are surprising to humans. Sometimes, when we think of them, we imagine and compare how life was in the days of our forefathers without the current innovations we have in our world today.

Take, for example, the usage of phones. Before our eyes, we've seen the transformation of the phone from just a simple tool to make calls to how it's now connected to our daily lives, where most of us depend on it for almost everything in our day-to-day activities. With a phone, one does not need to visit the bank to get money or make a payment for goods or services—just a little click on the bank mobile app, and the payment is settled. To me, this is the greatest innovation because it keeps getting better everyday with rapid innovations. Who knows what phones would be like in the next 20years. It's going to be smarter to what we have today

In this article, I'm not going to dwell on phones, but rather focus on the airplane.

The airplane is an invention that amazes me a lot. It's the fastest means of transportation, and it's something that was well thought out. I must commend the people who came up with the idea.
Before the invention of the airplane, I wonder how many days it took people back then to travel from one country to another, especially the countries that were very far apart. They must have spent a good number of days, or even weeks or months, traveling to and fro by ship. This is something that is now done within minutes or a few hours.

The first day I travelled from my state to a northern part of Nigeria, Kaduna, to be precise, via road, I felt it deeply because we spent almost 24 hours on the journey. This is something that can be done within minutes by using an airplane.

Let's talk about the flying capacity of the airplane.

If you've seen an aeroplane or jet when it's landed on the ground, you'll see how big it is and how many people it can accommodate, hundreds of them, along with their luggage. I often wonder how it is able to fly, considering how big and gigantic it is on the ground. Isn't that surprising? It truly deserves applause for the people who invented the idea.

On social media, I watch flight operations a lot, and I have seen many times how the aeroplane lands on the runway when it's ending a journey. That mechanism looks like magic, and I can't help but applaud once again the people who invented the airplane.

In one of those videos, I saw that the tyres, which appear very small from afar, are actually very big when you get closer. They're not ordinary because those tyres carry the weight of everyone on the plane. The takeoff and landing of an airplane will always look unreal to me.
