Hardwork is not enough

Gone are the days when hard work was the only thing a man needed to be successful. Things have changed a lot, there are people who are doing less work and earning more than those who are working 24/7. It was like this before, but it wasn't as obvious as it is in today's world. Our fathers did more of the hard work, especially with farm work, and had everything they wanted. But these days, those kinds of work are gradually leaving the system and are being replaced by other means of working, and the people of this age of life are making it with ease and with just little effort.

Hard work is good, I'm not taking anything away from that but hard work combined with things like working smartly and getting connected with people that matter is what is needed.

I always make reference to the difference between people who are working on a building site as labourers and those who are into crypto trading. The site labourers earn a mere sum of money from their work, but a person who is into crypto earns more if they are good in the field. Sometimes, what a person in crypto makes in one day can swallow up what the site labourer earns in two or three months. If you compare the two of them based on hard work, the site labourer has more of it because that job is actually very stressful, and doing it on a daily basis will surely weaken the body a lot. But the crypto trader has it on a soft note.

The difference between them is smartness. The site labourers are smart in their field too, and the crypto trader is also smart—but in this age, the crypto trader appears smarter because he does less and earns more, while the site labourers do more and earn less. That is how the situation of life is.

Talking about connection too;
This beats any type of hard work. In this stage we are in, just a single connection can pull someone with a $0.1 net worth to becoming a very wealthy person.
Yesterday, while in church during the sermon, our pastor gave us a good example of this when he testified about a man who was connected with the governor of one of the states in Nigeria, and that's when the story of the man changed.
A good connection with the right person can change things overnight and within the blink of an eye.

When it comes to being connected, it does not only mean being connected with people at the top, it means getting connected with people who can add value to your life with just a little effort, and one starts glowing.

Another example of this is in the sports world, especially the football section. You know, there are a lot of people out there who are playing very well in local leagues but are not recognised, even when they're playing better than those in the well-recognised leagues. They're working very hard in the local leagues, playing under adverse conditions, while those that have connections are in the soft leagues, putting in little effort and earning 10X what those in the local leagues are earning.

Thanks!

You are obviously on the right track. I also don't think only hardwork is enough and especially in a country like ours you just need to have the right connections and just that particular things that differentiates you from others.

When I saw the title , I was like really? But after reading, I sighed. It’s so true especially for the networking part. People have been working hard for years but are still stagnant in life. And all they need is one person to mention their name somewhere.
