Five years added or removed from my age?

I came across a post on Instagram on a particular page I follow. The post is about a decision between either choosing to add five years to one's current age or remove five years from one's current age. Immediately after I saw that, I didn’t meditate at all before I got my own answer. I would prefer to have five years removed from my age, and I have my reasons, even though they may sound funny and unreasonable.

When I checked some of the comments, I found out that a good number of the people also want their age to be reduced by subtracting the five years. This typically shows that no one wants to get old.

Life can be very funny because while we were young, we wished to grow bigger and older quickly so we could enjoy our 100% privacy. And now that we’ve grown, we want to go back to when we were children. But that, unfortunately, cannot happen because life and growth move forward ever, not backward, I mean, the growth stage.

As we have it, the more one grows older, the closer they get to their death age. If I get five years removed from my age now, that means I will live longer with five more years compared to the initial time I was supposed to die. The world is tough, everything about it is tough in adulthood, but then, most of us don’t want to die early. We don’t want to leave this bad world. We like it here, and I would want to stay more on this earth the more.

If five years are to be added to my age, it means I will be taking five years closer to my death. Is anyone seeing it like that? I don’t want to die early, please.

Removing five years from my age means I will be walking back to some of the good old days. Of course, five years ago, I was still totally under my parents, receiving feeding money from them. I would still want to experience that. Those were the days when the only thing I needed to battle was academics. Life was far better than it is currently. I want to live that simple life again.

What about you? Would you want to add five years to your age or reduce five years?

Thanks!
