Finally there's rainfall

After a very long while of crying and begging for rain to fall, it finally dropped today, and there's joy in our hearts.

Since last month (January), there has been intense heat, causing someone to sweat profusely. The worst situation happens at night when one cannot sleep due to the excessive heat. If there had been electricity, things would have been better because we would have been able to put on a fan or AC, but in this case, there was no electricity at all, and it is so expensive to buy fuel daily. So, we have been begging for rain to fall—not because we need the rainwater, no, but because we need the environment to be calm, to beat down the hotness of the weather, and to make it bearable.

Around 5:30 pm today, we suddenly started seeing drizzles, and we were happy, but then they suddenly stopped. Fear gripped us because if it stopped like that and never came back, it would make things worse—the heat would increase in intensity.

Not long after, the sound of rain filled the environment again, and this time, the drops were heavy. The smell of dry soil getting wet circulated everywhere, and I'm sure the earth was happy and jubilant.

Although it was not that intense, the drops were big enough to hit the soil well. The raindrops lasted for about 15 minutes, and then it stopped. From the way the environment looked when the rain ended, I could tell that there was not going to be heat at night, which has been the major issue.

At the time of writing this, it was almost 7:00 pm, the sun was gone, and the weather was cool. I hope the night remains cool so we can sleep without heat for the first time in a long while.

Thanks.
