Earliest childhood memory

I started being sensible and noticing things and events around me when I was in primary school, and I was very active in fact back then. Even as I type this, I can see myself in the days of my primary school, although the vision is not as clear as something that happened yesterday and very fresh in the memory.

Those days when we were in school, one of the major punishments that scared us was being flogged with a cane by both the teachers and the seniors. One of those occurrences which I can't forget in a hurry was when we were about to be flogged because we failed a homework. I joined my friend to do 'odeshi' (a Nigerian way of saying something is impenetrable to the body, and a typical example is the native bulletproof) by the stone method and keeping it in the mouth while receiving the cane, which was believed to make the cane not have any effect on the body.

My friends were very fond of the method and it had proven effective via their testimonies, so I decided to follow their path too because I wasn't ready to be in pain from the flogging.

When it got to my turn and I was to receive three lashes of the cane, immediately the first one landed on my buttocks, out of pain and shock, I didn't realize the stone I had placed in my mouth to help me neutralize the pain ran down into my stomach. At that moment, I noticed that I cried a lot because the cane was hurting me and I was also thinking of how to bring out the stone from my stomach because I didn’t want a rock to remain in my stomach forever.

When I told my friends about it, they laughed at me and also assured me that I'd pass it out through feces. I didn’t know when I passed it out during defecation, but I was sure I did.

Thanks!
