Drew McIntyre's Induction.

Well, the man is a professional wrestling veteran. I have witnessed a host of historical moments in the sport. Recently, yet another historical event took place that was simply breathless. It was Drew McIntyre's induction in the Scottish Wrestling Hall of Fame. Mainly, this is the actual success of McIntyre and merely an expression of his terrific journey in the wrestling world.

Looked at closely, Drew McIntyre is a person I see as resilience par excellence. This has been the case of underutilization in the WWE, having started early but never getting his due. Then he went away and made that stirring comeback to earn the World Heavyweight Championship title career marked by outspoken fluctuations in enough ways to make the cementing of a place in the Scottish Wrestling Hall of Fame hardly any mere personal victory.

When he posted about the induction on social media, I got so emotional reading it because he was proud of his Scottish roots, and the induction at Ibrox Stadium was surreal. McIntyre represented Scotland with pride in his heart. It is an accolade that recognizes a Scottish hero in the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame for wrestling contributions.

WWE's congratulatory post on Instagram, celebrating McIntyre as the first active wrestler to be inducted into the Scottish Wrestling Hall of Fame, added to the magnitude of this achievement. It's a fantastic feat, especially in an industry wherein such recognitions are usually given post-retirement. This milestone now seperate him, showing his influence and impact in wrestling; he is still very much actively competing.

But while McIntyre is basking in this glory, another storyline has slowly been brewing, which has captivated the fans' imagination: his ongoing feud with CM Punk. McIntyre has spoken so eloquently about the ways Punk has hurt him, both personally and professionally. His not only provided some of the best promos in recent memory but has added intensity to McIntyre's matches. With the Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event now looming, in which McIntyre will face off against Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship, it really could not be any higher.

That possibility brings along with it another level of excitement because McIntyre's "obsession, as the fans refer to it, with Punk has already, on two previous occasions, cost him the very championship. The anticipation builds around whether Punk is going to materialize and upset McIntyre in his title quest yet again. It's one of those storylines where it places the fans precisely on the edge of their seats and at how the proceedings are going to be.

However, I find McIntyre and Punk quite an interesting dynamic, with their history and tension between them that gives a certain realness to their rivalry, which, at times, feels entirely lacking in wrestling. The more heroic aspect is the determination of McIntyre to get through Punk's interference and rise to get back the title, which makes him all the more inspiring.
