I was actually talking about the northern white rhino. Humans hunted them to near extinction, but conservationists are using IVF and surrogates to try and save them. Pretty incredible stuff if it works

What do you think of the thesis according to which the most efficient way of preserving wildlife and biodiversity as a whole, is to drive humanity to extinction?
That's a wild thesis. I'm not sure wiping out humanity is the best way to save biodiversity—feels like throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Plus, we’re part of nature too, just gotta find better balance imo
It is still time to find a balance, when in this industrial human society it's estimated that around 10,000 species (animals, insects & plants) disappear EACH YEAR, and that approximately 1 million species are threatened with extinction?
