Delicious rice with corn, peas and cilantro. [Eng-Esp]

Today I bring you this recipe for rice with corn, peas and cilantro, ideal when you want to eat rice in a different way, I tell you that the cilantro gives it an incredible flavor, it has few calories. This rice can be enjoyed as a garnish on stewed beans, croquettes, and best of all is that the family will enjoy it, because it will undoubtedly be the perfect companion for a light and delicious meal. Hoy les traigo esta receta de arroz con maíz, guisantes y cilantro, ideal cuando se quiere comer de una manera diferente el arroz, les cuento que el cilantro le da un sabor increíble, tienen pocas calorías. Esta arroz la podemos degustar como contorno en frijoles guisados, croquetas, y  lo mejor de todo es que la familia lo va a disfruta, porque sin duda será el acompañante perfecto para una comida ligera y deliciosa. A mí particularmente me encanta y por eso la recomiendo. Aquí tienes el paso a paso.

01 cup rice, 1/2 cup corn and peas, 01 small onion, 02 cloves garlic, 01 handful cilantro, 2.1/2 cup water, salt and pepper to taste.
01 taza de arroz, 1/2 taza de maíz y guisantes, 01 de cebolla pequeña, 02 dientes de ajo, 01 puñado de cilantro, 2.1/2 taza de agua, sal y pimienta al gusto.

The first thing to do is to wash the cilantro and the onion very well, which we will cut into pieces. Cut the cilantro into small pieces and peel the garlic.


Lo primero que hay que hacer es lavar muy bien el cilantro y la cebolla, la cual cortaremos en trozos. El cilantro lo cortaremos pequeñito y pelamos los ajos.

Place the water in the blender, add the onion and garlic and blend until everything is integrated.

En la licuadora colocamos el agua, añadimos la cebolla y el ajo, licuamos hasta que todo esté integrado.

In a pot we put a spoonful of oil and when it is hot we add the rice and sauté it for a few seconds. Then add the onion and garlic mixture and cook over low heat.


En una olla ponemos una cucharada de aceite y cuando esté caliente añadimos el arroz y lo rehogamos unos segundos. A continuación añadimos la mezcla de cebolla y ajo y cocinamos a fuego lento.

When it starts to boil, season with salt and pepper and cover.


Cuando empiece a hervir, salpimentar y tapar.

After a few minutes, uncover and add the corn and peas, stir and cover again until the water evaporates, for a few more minutes. Turn off the heat and let stand covered for two minutes.


Pasados unos minutos, destapa y añade el maíz y los guisantes, remueve y vuelve a tapar hasta que se evapore el agua, durante unos minutos más. Apaga el fuego y deja reposar tapado durante dos minutos.

Now uncover and add the chopped cilantro to the rice, stir gently with a fork to integrate and cover the pot again for a few seconds more. Serve hot and enjoy a nutritious and delicious side dish.


Ahora destapa y añade el cilantro picado al arroz, remueve suavemente con un tenedor para que se integre y vuelve a tapar la olla durante unos segundos más.  Sirve caliente y disfruta de una guarnición nutritiva y deliciosa.
