This is my entry to the Writing Prompt by @mariannewest for 23 February 2026, Freewriters Community Daily Writing Prompt Day 3023: no electronics here.

He traveled all over the world, but he couldn’t find that special place.

In the end, he couldn’t believe his luck, when he read the sign: “No electronics here”.

“Well, that must be it.”, he said and knocked the door.

A man in his 60s opened, and asked him what he wanted.

“I am looking for a place in the world without any electronics, and I think I finally found it. Can I come in?”, he asked.

The other man let him in, and told him to leave any electronic devices on the table.

“I’m sorry, but these are the rules. We are a Peripatetic School, so we don’t want our students to be distracted by modern technology.”.

“What is a Peripatetic School?”

“It is a place where we philosophize while walking. As you can understand, you can’t do that if an electronic device keeps ringing and asking for your attention all the time.”
