Mist, webs, and quiet roads #monomad

समुदाय के प्यारे सदस्यों को नमस्कार। मुझे आशा है कि आप सभी अच्छे होंगे और अपने प्रियजनों के साथ गुणवत्तापूर्ण समय का आनंद ले रहे है।

These are some black and white monsoon pictures from two days back.

ये दो दिन पहले की कुछ श्वेत-श्याम मानसून तस्वीरें हैं।

There’s this one spot where cars always pile up, especially when the weather clears even a little. In this picture you can see an old-school streetlamp right in the middle..you can see how moody the clouds were. Soft tendrils of mist curling down into the valley, wrapping around the hills like they were hugging the land.

एक जगह ऐसी है जहाँ हमेशा गाड़ियाँ जमा रहती हैं, खासकर जब मौसम थोड़ा सा भी साफ़ होता है। इस तस्वीर में आप बीचों-बीच एक पुराने ज़माने का स्ट्रीट लैंप देख सकते हैं...आप देख सकते हैं कि बादल कितने मनमौजी थे। धुंध की कोमल लटें घाटी में लुढ़क रही थीं, पहाड़ियों को ऐसे लपेट रही थीं जैसे ज़मीन को गले लगा रही हों।

This stretch of road has seen better days but now it needs repair.. it's full of puddles and patches of moss. People usually avoid it now.But I always end up there. Maybe because it's quiet, or maybe because I’ve walked it a thousand times, and each time it looks different. In these pictures it feels like a black and white movie. Trees towering above, their branches heavy from the rain, and puddles reflecting the sky in broken circles.

सड़क के इस हिस्से ने अच्छे दिन देखे हैं, लेकिन अब इसकी मरम्मत की ज़रूरत है... यह गड्ढों और काई के धब्बों से भरा है। लोग अब आमतौर पर इससे बचते हैं। लेकिन मैं हमेशा वहीं पहुँच जाता हूँ। शायद इसलिए कि यह शांत है, या शायद इसलिए कि मैं हज़ार बार इस पर चल चुका हूँ, और हर बार यह अलग दिखता है। इन तस्वीरों में तो यह किसी ब्लैक एंड व्हाइट फिल्म जैसा लगता है। ऊपर ऊँचे पेड़, बारिश से उनकी शाखाएँ भारी, और गड्ढों में टूटे हुए घेरे में आसमान की झलक।

I saw a spider web on the way hanging perfectly between two railings. It had tiny droplets clinging to it, like pearls. It looked delicate but it was tough surviving those rainy winds. I didn't see the spider but that spider had worked all night, probably in the rain, and there it was his or her web still standing. I liked that. Quiet strength.

रास्ते में मैंने दो रेलिंग के बीच एक मकड़ी का जाला देखा जो बिल्कुल सही जगह पर लटका हुआ था। उसमें मोतियों की तरह छोटी-छोटी बूँदें चिपकी हुई थीं। वह नाज़ुक लग रहा था, लेकिन उन बरसाती हवाओं से बचना मुश्किल था। मैंने मकड़ी को तो नहीं देखा, लेकिन उस मकड़ी ने पूरी रात काम किया था, शायद बारिश में, और उसका जाला अभी भी वहीं खड़ा था। मुझे वह पसंद आया। शांत शक्ति।

This wild plant was thorny, weirdly shaped, growing exactly where it wasn’t supposed to. It stood out so much against the soft misty backdrop with its spiky flowers almost touching the electric wire.

यह जंगली पौधा काँटेदार था, अजीबोगरीब आकार का, और ठीक वहाँ उग रहा था जहाँ उसे नहीं उगना चाहिए था। धुंधली पृष्ठभूमि में यह इतना उभरकर दिखाई दे रहा था कि इसके नुकीले फूल बिजली के तार को लगभग छू रहे थे।

I came across another web, and this time the spider was right there in the middle, steady despite the rain and wind. It looked like it was standing guard, calm and still, just waiting for its next catch.

मुझे एक और जाला मिला, और इस बार मकड़ी ठीक बीच में थी, बारिश और हवा के बावजूद स्थिर। ऐसा लग रहा था जैसे वो पहरा दे रही हो, शांत और स्थिर, बस अपने अगले शिकार का इंतज़ार कर रही हो।

I came home in the evening and made myself a cup of chai. Sat on the balcony, wrapped in a shawl, and watched the clouds drift around the hilltops. There was a house across from mine with its lights on. Warm yellow glow from its windows, barely visible through the mist. All cozy, like a dreamy painting.

मैं शाम को घर आया और अपने लिए एक कप चाय बनाई। बालकनी में शॉल ओढ़े बैठा, पहाड़ियों की चोटियों पर बादलों को उड़ते हुए देख रहा था। मेरे घर के सामने एक घर था जिसकी बत्तियाँ जल रही थीं। उसकी खिड़कियों से हल्की पीली रोशनी आ रही थी, जो धुंध में मुश्किल से दिखाई दे रही थी। सब कुछ सुकून भरा था, मानो कोई स्वप्निल पेंटिंग हो।
